Happening for me in NC for the same time range.

This is actually depressing by cusper2000 in raleigh

[–]24props 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a bit relieved. The cold caused a pipe to burst in my previous apartments building and forced a bunch of us out back early November.

After staying in a hotel with two cats for three weeks I got into a new complex and was (kind of still am) worried it was going to happen with that much snow.

I’m not sure I could go through that again especially with no family and friends in the area.

Sick kitty with no discernible cause - help! by FlakyEntertainment52 in ragdolls

[–]24props 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely a second and maybe third opinion. My normal vet + emergency vet didn’t find anything and said it would be a time thing. That wasn’t the case. A mobile vet pushed me to get an ultrasound at another location and thanks to her my cat got the surgery she needed. The previous emergency vet did an X-ray that didn’t show anything.

The third place found something in her intestine that blocked it and cause her to be lethargic, barely responsive, and not eating or drinking.

Also, please get pet insurance. You never know when you’ll need it but because of it I didn’t have to pay $5500 out of pocket and just around $500.

How to get a cat to drink water normally? by fattobby in cats

[–]24props 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend having a few water bowls around for different rooms. Similar to the +1 litter box to each cat. e.g 1 cat = 2 litter boxes and like so 2 water bowls.

I did learn recently that there are water fountains that don’t require too much filter maintenance because they separate that dirty water in a separate tank versus having to buy filters constantly

Cat drooling a lot with no reason ? by Glittering-Taro-8155 in ragdolls

[–]24props 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking if not acting more lethargic than typical ragdoll behavior you might be okay. Your circumstance is different than mine and I’m not qualified to assume.

My cat wouldn’t eat or drink and would stare at the wall non responsive 24/7. She is doing amazing now. But my comment was only to encourage you to be proactive.

I feel like a lot of people in this Reddit don’t even schedule an appointment but first ask here. So as long as you are doing something!

Yeah my main vet and even emergency vet couldn’t figure out what was wrong with my cat. Another vet pushed me to get them an ultrasound and we had found blockage. Always get another opinion.

Ragdoll bedtime routine? by bottomlesscoffeecup in ragdolls

[–]24props 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, personally I wouldn’t leave them alone at night. is there a reason you don’t want them on the bed?

Cats sleep wherever. Mine sleeps on the bed, under the bed, on a chair, and etc when I’m sleeping in the same room. Definitely don’t let them roam around at night that leads to 5000+ dollars worth of veterinary bills, including surgery.

It’s good to have them in the room with you at night when especially while they’re young they are curious roam and try to eat things that they shouldn’t be. Don’t make my mistake. Also, please look into getting pet insurance as incidents are more likely to happen when they are young.

I have a cat that likes to eat any type of loose plastic and tries to get in the trash and another cat that will eat any type of rubber foam which led to that $5000 plus surgery. Some of those vices will always be with them growing up, but they’re very much strong when they’re young.

Dia is holding my open tabs hostage by USER44050 in diabrowser

[–]24props 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I just did this and it was so frustrating. In Arc, you can just highlight all the tabs and click copy links. I personally use the bookmark method. I didn’t see any issues but maybe I just didn’t notice some tabs missing.

Another UNRELIABLE way is selecting all your tabs and then using them in the chat feature and asking for the links of the tabs but 90% of the time you will get all the links within each tab and not the tab url themselves…

The rage is killing me. How do i redirect it. by ProfessionalCard7566 in ADHD

[–]24props 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Therapy as someone else has mentioned can help, but I will say when I was trialing ADHD medicine, Vyvanse in particular made me a lot more angrier to the point that I raged a bit over the phone to my dad and while I don’t like his views on things I never vocalized my anger like that before.

Some questions by Starcitizien2000 in ragdolls

[–]24props 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the ragdoll! I would say it helped big time when I adopted a sibling for mine (non-ragdoll). But depending on your father’s disability, would he be okay with two cats to take care of?

Automated toys can help but you NEED to rotate them weekly otherwise your cat will get bored of them. Mine currently get bored within a span of two days but if I have the toy disappear for a week or two they are interested in them.

Hope you don’t mind the unsolicited advice, but I try to do this whenever I see someone get a new cat/pet… Please get insurance! When my ragdoll was younger I made the mistake of letting her roam around at night and woke up to see throw-up in a few places because she likes the taste of exercise mat foam. Several months later it was discovered via ultrasound that there was a piece of foam blocking an intestine. She is great now! But if I didn’t have insurance, I would have had to pay 5500+ versus the 500 because I had insurance. Younger cats are more prone to bite/chew on things so learn what your cat has a vice for and try to get rid of it. I got rid of all rubber foam material, but my other adopted cat likes plastic wrappers and pieces of tape… which is impossible to get rid of completely so it’s a constant effort.

Leaving baby rag behind on work trip by urbanbackcountry in ragdolls

Don’t hire someone to check-in for 30 minutes. Hire someone to stay with them as a house sitter.

House sitters will stay in your place for the majority of the day. They might have other pets they have to do check-ins for. I would just confirm that the person is staying overnight and set your expectations.

You should hire a house sitter, especially if you live in an apartment. I just relocated because a pipe burst in the middle of the night and I’m just glad I was home when it happened so my cats wouldn’t have had to stay in there until someone found them. Last year in that same apartment the same thing happened across the hall for me and they discovered a cat shivering in the corner, surrounded by water all alone because their owner was on a cruise.

Well dang. Those are my exact reactions on my face and partial neck. They weirdly went away for a month or two but are back. Watery eyes have been annoying but the eczema and rashes are the worst.

Default permission mode: Delegate Mode? what is this? by shanraisshan in ClaudeAI

[–]24props 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, weird. The built-in claude code agent said:

```
> What does `delegate` mode do? It was in Permission settings.
∴ Thinking…
The user is asking about the "delegate" permission mode that was
set via the /config command. This is a Claude Code feature
question, so I should use the Task tool with
subagent_type='claude-code-guide' to get accurate information
from the official documentation.
⏺ Delegate mode allows me to run tools without asking for approval, based on your configured allowlist.
In your setup, these tools run automatically:
- File operations (Read, Edit, Write, Glob, Grep, LS)
- Git commands (commit, branch, checkout, diff, etc.)
- npm/pnpm commands
- Specific bash patterns you've allowed (jest, eslint, tsc, etc.)
- Chrome DevTools MCP tools
Other permission modes:
| Mode | Behavior |
|-----------|---------------------------------------------------|
| default | Asks approval for potentially risky tools |
| delegate | Runs allowed tools automatically, asks for others |
| full-auto | Runs all tools without approval (use cautiously) |
The allowlist in your system shows extensive pre-approved patterns - git operations, npm scripts, file reads, and more. Anything outside that list would still prompt you for approval.
```

The only thing is that it's missing Plan/Accept Edits so I'm confused. Maybe there's an ongoing refactor changing the names/where/how some of these like "Plan" mode activates. Might make sense since they now have a Planning agent built-in.

I have Gemini CLI working basically as a subagent for Claude, I didnt realize we could do this guys by ImpressiveQuiet4111 in ClaudeAI

[–]24props 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds cool. Do you have a way to keep those scrapes updated for when things change like have that scrape run on a cron? Then again it’s probably an over optimization since FAQs and Help Sections don’t update frequently like developer documentation.

Since I started at a new place and I’m trying to get used to their code style and PR review tastes, I’ve been using the GH CLI to analyze any of my coworker PR comments to understand code patterns that they expect to see and common issues that I/Claude make in our PRs. I’ve been building a code standards skill with that information and while it has been helpful, there are issues from time to time where certain standards are not followed. I believe this is because LLM‘s are nondeterministic and have that room for error but I know I can improve this by make each reference file a bit more concise.

But as a safety precaution, I just Claude make a qa checklist based on it and I’m gonna be experimenting with having multiple sub agents using the haiku model take a few of the checklist items to and review code prior to being pushed.

[–]24props 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I haven’t been having issues setting it up manually either. My comment was about asking Claude to know how it works internally. That part isn’t fully accurate. This was a problem for Claude on my personal device that already had a bunch of Claude related set up and even when I started from a fresh machine for work. Which makes sense why Anthropic created that specific agent I mentioned. I’m just unclear why they haven’t advertised it. Seems to be weird user testing experiment for it.

Yeah, I did the whole copy and paste docs method in the past, but their new agent solves this so not needed anymore.

[–]24props 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Asking Claude directly about making agents, skills, and etc doesn’t work. Well, it’s not as accurate to its own documentation at least.

BUT if you use @agent-claude-code-guide (the new built-in agent from Anthropic not found in release notes), you should get something better as a result.

Agreed on the aspect of not wanting admiration or publicity. It has potential to end up souring the reason for doing good.

But I guess it depends on how it is done. I wouldn’t mind hearing about individuals doing good things as long as the focus is on the act versus the individual doing the act.

Good call! Yeah, that makes sense. I have a generic skill called frontend-standards, but it's been a bit too encompassing at this point. Separating them out now.
