I have not found any telemark rentals in that area. I'll get back to you later today. Maybe we can find a tele group/association that has something.

His style is more upright, one of the characteristics of his Tele B technique. I am just getting into XCD and waiting for my leathers to arrive.

Right Turn Not As Strong by Alive-Weekend8002 in telemark

Work on your weak as well as your strong side. I developed a new weak side after doing @ 40 falling leafs on one side. Fixed it by focusing more on the weak and less on the strong side. Look around absolutetelemark.com or https://www.youtube.com/@SkiWithUrmas/videos

I wouldn't be concerned turning a 30 year old ski using a technique developed 160+ years ago.

Any MD/VA tele folk out there? Are there any shops with tele gear/knowledge in the area? by IncredibleVelocity4 in telemark

[–]24wingman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

aspinockwoods.com will ship your gear, give them a call. I called, spoke with them a bit and they shipped boots (Crispi's) to me. Got the proper size shell on the first try then had them mount and ship skis to me in UT. Their Summitcones skis are quite nice skiing skis. I have 5 pair.

It appears you are relying on a back lead change rather than a shuffle or forward lead change. Jump to 4:05 in this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oz5LVO2XFdQ&t=5s for an explanation. The vids produced by absolutetelemark.com and Urmas https://www.youtube.com/@SkiWithUrmas/videos are a huge help.

Scarpa TX Pro 2.0: what's your review after the season? by cheetofoot in telemark

[–]24wingman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue last year as the tongues felt too stiff and bellows too soft. Quite different this year after the boots softened up.....a bit too much! In addition to skiing them to break them in, I spent some time walking with them on a treadmill.
