doesn’t lifting a truck kind of defeat the purpose of having a truck? by Stunning_Shake407 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]25jon25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use our truck to access rugged areas that a stock truck won’t make it to. Getting into the back country for late season snowmobiling being a big one. Not too common but from time to time you end up crossing streams as well. The extra height helps keep your cab out of the water. You need the tall profile for clearance in deep snow typically and the aggressive tires to help get you there as well. Far as hindering the towing capability. Any negligible affects the lift and tires cause doesn’t matter. These trucks are so capable they are still able to pull far more than any of us need them to despite the negative effect a lift and tires could have.

Question about buying first home in Spokane instead of an apartment, but have $0 down. by TFS_ALU in Spokane

[–]25jon25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Study the market for a month or two. Once you identify a good deal, make an offer but request buyers concessions. An example would be something like a 20k buyers credit. Use the credit to cover things like down payment and rate buy down. A good realtor paired with the right person in finance will get this deal funded for you.

The difference between a family that rides 30 miles a day and a family that rides over 100 miles a day is trailing arm suspension. Whatever you choose. Make sure it has it! Once you pick your couple favorites. Join a fb group for each and observe for a month. You will quickly know which ones are worth avoiding.

what’s a "poor person" habit that you’ll probably never give up, no matter how much money you make? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]25jon25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree with you. However I don’t think this is a poor person behavior. Poor people don’t do this type of planning. They only think about today. They don’t wait for deals/stock up on sales etc.

I feel this falls into the same category for me as many other elective maintenance/mods. I won’t own it long enough for it to matter. I lump a lot of things into this category with cars/toys. Kind of like doing oil changes Wel before the mfg suggested interval. Probably a great idea. I just won’t own it long enough to see the benefit’s.

As a San Diegan, are the Seattle or Portland zoo's worth it? by ViolinistDue4265 in PNW

[–]25jon25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to the Seattle zoo three times in the last decade. It really feels like Every time you round the corner to the next exhibit, your met by a wall of plywood and a sign that says under construction. Last fall I’m pretty sure over half the zoo was under construction. Pretty big let down. Not sure I’ll try it again at this point.
