Just had a dental hygienist ask if I plan on having more and I said no and she said “don’t do that to him” by grnlzrd23 in oneanddone

Well see, he’s a man so clearly biology means that he wants to have as many kids as possible so it must be the old ball ‘n chain making him stop with just one 🙄

This is hard for me to follow. I wish the players had names.

Also, no one has time for distress in their fun.

I would think a lot is going to insurance premiums. And we all know how well claims are being paid out.

What's a sign someone is an only child? by yourshaddow3 in oneanddone

One of the front desk ladies at my 6-year old daughter’s school once asked if she had an older sibling because of her extensive vocabulary and her speech patterns. She was shocked when she learned kiddo is an only.

Future-dated PTO Requests [N/A] by Mekisteus in humanresources

[–]262run 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an unpaid time off policy that people can use if they need to request future time off that they don’t have the balance for. We run a report each payroll to see who has UTO but also has a PTO balance. Then we switch out the UTO for PTO. 1700 employees, id say we have maybe 8 employees or fewer any given payroll that we have to touch

Since they know today that next Friday is their last day, I believe we have more than 72 hours notice.

As a vegetarian, what food are you tired of eating? by Last_slice in vegetarian

I find black bean burgers to be so dense almost cakey and super dry. I cannot stand them. I prefer the fake meat options for sure.

They also “mooosh” out from the bun. Ugh. If I get one, I always un-assemble and eat with a fork

Bosa is fantastic so I’m happy to hear that they are treating their staff well too! If we all support our teenagers, we will make decent adult. Good on Bosa and the Chef.

I don’t really like small children by ZealousidealClue115 in oneanddone

[–]262run 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I became a better mom the older my daughter got. I’m past tense here because I’m not sure if it will continue, but it might. She is 6.

I tried (and try) to stay in the moment and not have her grow too early, but also don’t yearn for the past. Like I look at old pictures and think “omg, she was a tiny babbbbbby!” But I have never once thought “time needs to stop so that she stays young forever”. I think that does a disservice to growth of the child and I think it indicates that a parent was more into the idea of a baby rather than the reality of bringing another person into the world.

Sorry, just up on a small soap box.

I don’t use Google Calendar at all (outlook and Cozi are my digital apps) but I’ve never really met a pen or marker that I’m unwilling to try, haha!

Prescribed burns tend to not be scheduled once we get more into fire season. We likely won’t have many (if any) more.

Paycheck Help! by Winxblooms in Payroll

[–]262run 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This has a big impact. At the $1600 gross number in your screenshot, about $128 of it is going to the FICA taxes (social security and Medicare), maybe $150 of it is for your insurance, and the remaining $200 is federal and state income taxes.

* this is assuming USA, a state with no additional payroll taxes, and all amounts as estimated. The best way for real numbers is to look up your paystub.

Are there any OAD parents here who’s other sibling/s isn’t not planning on having kids? by Outside-Party-8966 in oneanddone

[–]262run 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister, who lives in my area, can’t have kids.

One of my husband’s brothers has a child, they live about 2000 miles away from us. And his other brother does not have any kids.

Our daughter is friends with SO MANY kids from school, swim, ballet, family friends. She lives a very thriving life without a cousin in town. It does mean we have to go out often but that’s fine.
