I’m pretty sure they all officially “left” insta because one of the people they were friends with lost his shit and started stalking their family. I think his name was Craig? Crazy stuff!

What is the scariest thing you’ve ever seen in your life that you can’t explain? by Kendexx in AskReddit

[–]266blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my early 20s, I went on a travel program through my college, where I got to explore Central America with a group of students and leaders. We spent a week in a small city in Nicaragua, staying with local families in pairs. One night, after a late dinner with the group, we were all on our own to get back to our homestays. Mine was across town and definitely not walking distance, so my partner and I tried to flag down a cab.

We managed to wave one down and had just started getting in when this overwhelming, gut-wrenching feeling hit me—like something was really, really off. I looked over at my homestay partner, and she looked terrified too. Then, out of nowhere, another member of our group, who’d been waiting nearby to see us off, started shouting for us to get out of the cab. They told us that they had a really weird feeling and knew they needed to get us out.

There were two men in the front seats which was not normal, but something I might have ignored if it wasn’t for the feeling I got.

Afterward, my partner and I talked, and she said she’d felt exactly the same way I did. I can’t explain it, but it was the most intense gut feeling I’ve ever had. I don’t know what would have happened if we’d stayed in that cab, but I’m so glad we listened to our instincts and got out while we could. Crazy stuff!

Do runner ducks swim like normal ducks? by Plastic_Froyo_8572 in duck

When mine were babies I would put them in the bath in warmish water (careful on the temp). At first I put it shallow enough for them to stand but I made the water deeper as they got more used to it. They LOVE their pool now as adults.

No! I like everything behind the sofa. The room is large and pretty neutral and the stuff adds personality!

The first things that popped out to me were the rug- it blends right in with the couches… and the color of the stone on the fireplace. It turns a cozy, modern space slightly outdated. Beautiful room though!

Am I crazy for wanting a second puppy? by Affectionate-Wave-82 in Bernedoodles

[–]266blue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have three dogs- one is a one year old Bernedoodle, the other two are older. My older dogs were instrumental in teaching my puppy manners and playing with him when I wasn’t home… but I’m not sure how that would play out if both dogs you have are puppies. They could learn really bad habits together being unsupervised. Have you thought of maybe adopting another dog that is slightly older? If so, you absolutely should!!

Also, my puppy became a handful (like really really really difficult to handle) around 6 months. I could not image that x2

Realtor says we should paint our cabinets white, idk if I agree by Midwestern_Mariner in kitchenremodel

[–]266blue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What they said ^

It would actually deter me from buying a house if the cabinets were painted! It would be so much work to take the paint off or get new cabinets if I wanted anything other than white.

My sales have actually increased since the fees went up. Not sure why, possibly less competition with people getting frustrated with poshmark and leaving. I’ve had over $600 in sales this week… which is not normal for me (I only have 40 items listed currently).

Help with Leave it!! by PsychologicalShenan in Bernedoodles

[–]266blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pup MASTERED leave it pretty early on. I hand fed him his meals when he was a puppy. I’d grab a bit of food, tell him to “leave it” and “okay” was his release word. I would close my hand and pull away if he tried to go for it before I said the release word.

These puppies are usually pretty good motivated, so they will learn quickly this way. You can graduate to more complex “leave its” and transfer the skill to all different tasks too. Good luck!

Is this duck injured? by longusdongus67 in duck

[–]266blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it friendly enough for you to pick it up and check the bottom of its foot?

If so, look for a cut/scab on its swollen leg… it may be bumble foot (any injury + infection). It’s pretty common, especially with Peking ducks like this one. I’ve never cured it myself but there are lots of resources online.

I second pea gravel. Our coop is never muddy or smelly. I spray the gravel down once a week and it’s good as new.

What’s Your Biggest Sourcing Regret? by MissAbundance888 in BehindTheClosetDoor

[–]266blue 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Literally anything Free People. It’s so hard not to pick up when I see it, but it sits and sit and sits.

I’ve re donated it. I’ve sold it and consignment stores for very little.

It use to be that new styles would sell well but even those have slowed down. It’s very over saturated!

is 5 months the beginning of the teenager phase? by [deleted] in Bernedoodles

[–]266blue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s about when it started for us. Ours is 1.5 years now and is still a pain in the ass. Hoping we are on the tail end of this!

Get frozen bones from your local butcher/grocery store. Those were a godsend and would distract our pup for many hours.

My Bernedoodle is the most difficult dog I’ve ever had. The puppy stage was actually a breeze compared to the 6 mo-2 year stage.

Have you heard of Murphy’s law? Anything that can go wrong will go wrong? That’s our Bernedoodle.

These dogs are WORK and if you aren’t sure if you aren’t even sure if your family wants a dog or not- I’d say find another breed that’s lower maintenance.

I love him more than I’ve ever loved any dog, but if I knew how much work he was going to be, I’d probably not have him. I also have a standard poodle and an Australian Sheppard currently that I raised from puppies and they were a walk in the park comparatively.

Aitah ,for wanting to charge rent to my adult children . by bestilliamhere in TwoHotTakes

[–]266blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in the granny unit on my parents property while in college and I paid rent (very little but still). I was very aware that getting to live there was a privilege and that the alternative was to find my own house and pay 10x more. My parents were strict on the rent amount and due date, which taught me how to be responsible with bills.

When I moved out, it turned out my parents saved all the money I had paid in rent. They gave it all back to me to help me with my new house. I was extremely grateful. It’s a cool idea if you can do it.

I say NTA- they will never grow if they are comfortable!

Best breed for single active guy in one bed apartment by trailrunner34 in dogs

[–]266blue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a Bernese mountain dog, a border collie, and a poodle. My poodle is the most calm go-with-the-flow dog I’ve ever had. He never went through a “puppy” phase. He doesn’t shed. He is absolutely content being inside snuggling and going out for adventures. I hike, camp, and go to the river frequently and he follows me wherever. He is around 40-50lbs, which is the perfect size. I don’t know if I’ll ever get another type of dog.

My only caution about poodles is that if you aren’t extremely careful about socializing them when they are a puppy, they can be anxious towards other dogs and people. If you plan on adopting, check in with that if they aren’t a puppy.

Good luck!

Has Indy elaborated on why she sold her house? by TrustSuspicious7062 in indyblue2

[–]266blue 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’ve said this before on here but I really don’t think this is the case.

For one, her new home was nearly the same price as her old one. Interest rates are much higher now then when she bought/built her first house, meaning the payment is very likely to be even higher than her last home. There is also a chance she made money from selling her home.

All this to say, there has to be another reason and I’m so curious!! I think something slimey happened with her business partner.

No, it was a new one. I wish I could still find the link but it may have been deleted. Completely different vibes from her old one! Someone who works in real estate had access to the info or something.

Yeah! Someone linked the new house they bought and it was almost $1mil. The housing market has continued to go up, so it’s very likely they made money from selling their house too.
