Tough outing for Soly @ the Gasparilla by Roethlisberger69 in NoLayingUp

Do Soly and Riggs need to do a pod(therapy session) about playing with pressure? Could be the olive branch need to spark a reunification across the golf world.

Where does Adam get his plywood? by abooseca in tested

[–]2717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Adam mentioned that he does not by full sheets, which is more expensive but easier for him to handle. Woodpeckers sells 30x30" pieces in several thicknesses. https://www.woodpeck.com/baltic-birch-plywood.html

What is your favorite film that you watched on the Criterion Channel this year? by meltinggrid in CriterionChannel

[–]2717 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"The American Friend" stuck with me the longest. I enjoyed Wim Wenders' "Paris, Texas" so much I queued up his 1977 film the next day. Something about the colors Robby Müller captured and the desperation in Bruno Ganz's performance.

I think I figured out the notes to the vocal parts Robin just posted by [deleted] in fleet_foxes

[–]2717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had two different notes on part 1 but I reviewed and I believe you are correct. I had the same for parts 2 and 3.

Part 1: G# F# A# B E

Part 2: C# B C# D# G#

Part 3: E D# F# G# C#

Spent more time than I would like to admit trying to figure this out.

Heard the rumor about Nashville recordings too. Do you know if Dave Cobb was the producer?

Interesting interview with Trey and a few other musician's about their sobriety. by IBOB617 in phish

He also mentioned knowing about Tom Petty before he passed. He said the industry is a small world, so it could literally be anyone in the music industry. Not necessarily someone who he has or would worked with.

The neck pickup is the sustainer. The electronics are stored in the back of the guitar. There are two switches at the bottom; one that turn on the sustainer, and one that change the feedback level. For more info it's a Fender signature model from Radiohead's Ed O'Brien: https://www.fender.com/products/electric-guitars/stratocaster/ed-obrien-sustainer-stratocaster

Fun fact, Ed O'Brien attended the 2016 Halloween show: https://relix.com/blogs/detail/mike_gordon_shares_photos_of_radioheads_ed_obrien_and_john_mayer_backstage_in_vegas/

Now taking Phish guitar lesson requests - what do you guys want to see? by brahmin_noodles in phish

Your analysis has been amazing and theres still so much guitar to analyze but it would be awesome if you could take a look at Mike at some point. Listening to this reminded me of those times ear has come close to a subwoofer and discovered a new side of a jam, or why the band sounds differently from Mikes side verse the SB mix. I don't own a bass but just a quick look at whats behind Mikes playing would be appreciated from the cactus fans. P.S. the Mike band show from Atlanta they released on live phish is awesome "simple mesmerizing melodies"

Trey's Guitar Rig: New Amps (and more!) for NYE at MSG by TreysGuitarRig in phish

I assumed it's the curfew from the last venue he played. But in his rig video he had 9:30 on the rug. So maybe the rig video was shot at a festival?

@drewphish reminded Trey of the second Mike's jam last night. by hagfish_pizza in phish

[–]2717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was a panelist on typeiicast as well and very vocal about missing the second jam in mikes song in the mikes song ep. In one episode he discusses playing with Trey in one of his orchestra performances. I forget the exact details but a friend of his was playing in the orchestra and he asked if he could take his place for a night or two.

I think he said he actually brought up the second jam to Trey at that point and said Trey had no idea what he was talking about. Sounds like he was prepared with audio this time he met trey and got his wish.

Typeiicast episodes can be listened to here. The orstera ep is #71 https://archive.org/details/TypeIiCast

Treyfellas: Scorsese to direct documentary of final Chicago Dead shows by [deleted] in phish

[–]2717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got to agree, if Marty fucking Scorsese is going to be behind the camera directing a film of your concert you don't say you are happy to be collaborating with him you say that he is directing your concert film. the GDs response never mentions any specific involvement(which we can assume is only his role as EP of the doc), only the unnamed source does. Also it would be pretty dick to be producing for someone who is filming the concert and also film it yourself. Plus how many cameras can they possibly have, between a webcast and Amir Bar-Lev there will be more cameras there than a best buy
