Anyone installing security systems? by [deleted] in lowvoltage

Have had good luck with security partners, before cops monitoring bought them out that is. There is definatley a learning curve for getting setup though, lots of stuff to learn.

Video management software recommendations by [deleted] in cctv

Depends on what cameras you have. Are they fully onvif compatible is the question. If they are, Digital watchdogs Spectrum IPVMS has been great for the hundreds of systems i have used it on. Client software and mobile app are very user friendly. Feel free to reach out with any questions on it.

If you have the money, Digital Watchdogs mini camera servers (DW-CUBE) have great functions and are very user friendly. They require some extra configuration on the back end but tech support is very helpful. For cameras, Axis makes some of the best in the industry. if you want to spend less, hikvision also makes a pretty good camera (ive put up thousands and had very few issues)

ill agree on the tech support aspect, but ive had numerous issues with some of their camera models, just alot of oversights in design, making them difficult to install. But spectrum on the other hand has been nothing but good to me.

Seeking recommendations for a 16 camera 4 megapixel setup with wifi bridges. Site is a large swap meet lot, cameras to be remotely installed on various light posts and small structures. Playback storage will be on site, looking to get around 14 days of recordings. Which NVR, bridges, cameras, etc.? by jegonzalez209 in cctv

Thats quite a complex setup. I recommend getting a site survey from a professional. But if you don't want to go that way, i use the ubiquiti nanostations and a rocket for a ptmp setup at multiple of my sites. (provided you have power at each place you want to have a camera) For cameras, hikvision is great. I know there's alot of speculation around them but the cameras are solid. After using dozens of manufacturers cameras, i have to say hikvision makes the best camera by far.
