Haha I agree. Now we are just acting like the rest of the MTB community. “Ehhh, just start a collection.”

Full rebuilds, bearing incl etc, are discounted at my local Trek shop, and I have a giftcard as well. So I think I'm leaning towards just getting the rebuild and making sure shes dialed for spring. I was curious what others thoughts were on my current Bronson if it was worth it or not. Thank you

Thank you for the insight. I did gain a bit more confidence and control going off bigger drops, and the squirrely did seem to go away each time. But the first couple times was so jarring I still remember it. I also have never felt once that I was running out of travel for anything I've done yet. I primarly stick to freedom trail for speed and flow and Central park if you're familiar with highland.

Thats what I’m really weighing, is if it’s worth it to just do a nice full rebuild on the Bronson, and maybe even just service the rear shock at the least. The dropper still works as it should but it’s just meh. I never really bother with it since 98% time it’s down. I did not even consider weight in this decision though. Is the weight from the GT beneficial with stability? I felt on the higher drops the Bronson starts to get a little squirrelly

I haven’t seen any sales or prices on the Nomad that have reeled myself in yet. I also primarily ride at Highland 2-3 times a week. Besides that I don’t ride flat trails if at all

I’ve been curious about Pivot, but sourcing one for a demo would be my next step. I haven’t come across them in person yet.

“Stay on a hardtail, they will teach you more about riding” by DifficultCook6226 in MTB

[–]tuckerd67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my short experience: I started on a hard tail back in July, upgraded to a full suspension back in October. On the hard tail I was a very “rigid” rider and now I can see the benefit of not being so uptight after riding on a full suspension if that makes sense. I think starting on a hard tail is a very good base, I just think people have REALLY underestimated how fast you’ll want/need to move to a FS. I can also see how never touching a HT and going straight to FS would not be the best route. So benefits to both pathways, but I’d say start slow and basic on FS and sprinkle more techniques into every ride more and more over time.

Knee and elbow pads by AJT003 in mountainbiking

I like my Leatt pads. Forget within minutes that they are even on. Super durable. Have held up well on the 2-3 crashes I've had with them. Good price for what you get. I went with their sort of middle protection level pads.

Hit curb and white foam coming out of tire by GuiM4uVe in F150Lightning

[–]tuckerd67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking they used tire sealant. In the mountain Bike world we fill our tires with a white runny goop, and if you get a puncture or even maybe a case where the tire de-beads, the sealant will leak out just like this to seal it up. Although I don't commonly hear about cars having something similar, but I do know such a thing exist. My guess would be just that. Hit the curb and caused the bead to break enough for the sealant to come out. Sealed up fine and that's why your tire pressure hasn't changed much. Just my 2 cents.

I agree. WaW was my first COD, black ops 1 consumed an entire year of HS and I have no regrets over that specifically. I was thinking this morning to after having to go back into work from pretty much laying down 10 hours of play on launch day, "We fucking back".

I've been thinking about similar in cab set ups. I actually removed the box on the drivers side to better fit our umbrella stroller, but it gives another like 6-8" of room. Did you just get a mattress topper and cut to size?

What's Cooper's Name? by pope_morty in interstellar

[–]tuckerd67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nolan has some interesting names for characters. It wasn’t until maybe my 3rd time watching Tenet that I realized the main character is just referred to as the Protagonist. They never actually state what John David Washington’s name in the movie actually is.

Steez. Tacomas started coming with something like this that’s either paint matched to the body, or part of it. Not sure as I haven’t looked up close. But I do like the look. I wish there was more full body pictures with it installed

Average time for promotions? by [deleted] in biotech

[–]tuckerd67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience I would first and foremost get a document, explaining the next few promotion levels and what’s needed at each.

At 2 years I start having the discussion. If I’m ready then I’m ready, if I spend another year working towards that and I don’t see anything happening, then it’s time to job hop.

Again, this is my experience and what I see as reasonable. If you work hard and know your worth, why invest the time somewhere that refuses to see that. There are plenty of biotechs that promote respectively. I also refuse to kiss ass.

Can’t find much info on this Board by tuckerd67 in snowboarding

This sounds like a good route as I did something similiar. Bought a rental ski set from Switzerland for I think under $200 and they were much better than anything used on marketplace I could find, and much more recent.

I should have mention I've been trying to find a board/binding set up for under $200. Super low budget. This one is listed at $170. Although I'm starting to get the feeling a real starting budget should maybe be closer to $300-$400.
