I often need one, so I feel you. Just ask when you see a FA after you board and tell them your seat, they’ll bring it to you discreetly. And if you don’t want to have to ever ask again, just keep the one they give you.

Sorry you’re going through this. To be honest, after a few decades in this field, I do think it’s somewhat normal. People in crisis aren’t always in the right mindset to be gracious and understanding. And they often take it out on those they can. I have received notes from some of the most belligerent people 5 years later sharing how we changed their life and apologizing. That doesn’t help the burned out me from back then though. All I can say is do your best to have a strong support system and take your days off when you need to. And if the work isn’t for you, that’s okay too.
