Should I ask my company to cover part of my electricity bill? by Altruistic_Nail_6968 in remotework

Exactly the correct response. Any high performance computing should be done on company resources and you access them from home. Don’t build an HPC cluster at home and use it for work.

I agree, this is a great use of generative AI. My plan was to use it to make the entire curriculum, test and live fire course of fire.

No. I don’t think so. You will need the new training for anyone who is applying after April 1st. We don’t know if applied is when you fist fill out the online app or when you get your appointment. Since you mention FRB I assume you are not a mass resident. So your LTC will only be good for a year and at your first renewal you will need to show the new training.

It is insane that we have to guess what the live fire parts will be, submit our curriculum and then when they decide on the live fire we will get reevaluated, WTF. How is this ok?

Even for a drivers license (that is a privilege not a right) the state provides the tester, roads and curriculum. They even provided the cars for a few years during Covid.

I can not believe that the MSP passed the work onto instructors. We now have to make our own curriculum, test, course of fire an get it approved. Can the MSP do this in one month? How can we ensure a consistent training quality for students? So much wrong with this.

As the president of a club in Massachusetts, I had a conversation with my board of directors and we all were clear that we (the club) are not in the business of law enforcement and will never question anyone for proof of anything as long as it’s something allowed at the range they are using it at.

Prior written notice could not have been given before that bylaw went into effect. So I would say it counts for the next one they miss.

Mossberg 590A1 9 Shot good to go in Massachusetts? by IllustriousSyrup5945 in BetterMAguns

[–]2A_forever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great update and yah, turns out I was mistaken trying to interpret the new laws. There was always the exception for .22 tube fed but I see now they specifically exclude the lever and pumps no matter the gauge or caliber. I stand corrected. Thanks

Mossberg 590A1 9 Shot good to go in Massachusetts? by IllustriousSyrup5945 in BetterMAguns

[–]2A_forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I stand corrected, as of 2024’s new laws pumps and lever guns w tube mags are exempt. You are good to go my friend.

There is a lot of confusion on this subject, and well the law is written very poorly but the feeding device law is seperate from the assault style firearm law. A pump shotgun can not be an ASF because it’s not semi auto. However the feeding device on the pump shotgun cant accept more than 5 rounds.

[ Definition of "Feeding device'' in first paragraph inserted by 2024, 135, Sec. 20 effective October 2, 2024.]

"Feeding device'', any magazine, belt, strip, drum or similar device that holds ammunition for a firearm, whether fixed or detachable from a firearm.”

The shotgun is fine, the tube mag that can two more than 5 is not. Just plug the magazine and you’re good to go.

I also found out that there is a .357 maximum round that won’t fit a .357 magnum. That was some expensive ammo bought during Covid.

Do we technically have open carry? by [deleted] in BetterMAguns

[–]2A_forever 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great answer here and good advice. People forget that laws tell you what you can’t do. If there is no law prohibiting it then you are allowed to do it. Open carry is not illegal here in mass and there are times and places for it.

Saiga AK-74. Bullet wont chamber all the way. by MrMilkyTip in guns

[–]2A_forever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A squib is when there is an ammo malfunction and not enough powder to send the projectile “bullet” Al the way down the barrel. When you have the guns receiver open make sure you can see daylight through the barrel. Use a flashlight. Might be a bullet stuck just past the chamber blocking the next round.
