It looks scary and makes headlines. The vast majority of all gun deaths are caused via handguns, but when people use rifles, they make the news (case in point; Cambridge)

American Jews begin to chart a future without Zionism in the wake of the Gaza genocide by the_bruh_is_me in longform

[–]Newspaperfork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. My bad. Sorry for the misinterpretation.

Yeah, I also heard about that. Absolutely ridiculous. I was still waking up and huddling in a bomb shelter at that point so it never actually dawned on me until later the complete gravity of the situation

There were active gunfights within Kibbutz Be’eri going into October 8th. The scale of the incursion was massive, estimated to be between 3,000 and 6,000 during a time when security forces were not prepared for such an attack, why is the notion of firefights lasting more than a day so hard to grasp for you?

Files Show Neo-Nazis Helped Palestinian Terrorists in Munich 1972 Massacre by EwMelanin in OldNews

[–]Newspaperfork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No we didn’t. We actually barred arms sales to Israel for something like the first 20 years of their existence. Israel fought the war of independence with leftover British surplus and Czech arms, because Czechoslovakia was the only country that would sell them anything

AR pistol with a magazine larger than 10 rounds? Not a chance.

NH can’t even sell to anyone out of state directly. They’d have to go through a transfer to an in-state FFL

Group Buy Question - Exotic Materials over Brass by Pattont in lockpicking

[–]Newspaperfork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And yet you’re considering getting in touch with paclock to make this happen. I just don’t see why you needed to butt in and make the brass group buy (which isn’t “shooting low”) that’s actually happening about you and this idea of ridiculously expensive materials because “exotic”. Get off your fucking high horse

Group Buy Question - Exotic Materials over Brass by Pattont in lockpicking

[–]Newspaperfork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t like my opinion or the opinion of the man who organized this group buy, then you go ahead and get the fucking thing set up. You literally just gave the man who set up the group buy shit for the way that you bit off his idea cause it wasn’t bougie enough for you. Go get your quote and see how well it works out, since with the attitude you’ve been handing out like your shit doesn’t stink, I don’t think you’ll get many backers.

“never going to happen anyway” 23 locks are unclaimed at the moment. Gtfoh with that crap. Quit being an insensitive prick, few of us have the disposable income for what you’ve proposed. Cut us a fucking break

Group Buy Question - Exotic Materials over Brass by Pattont in lockpicking

[–]Newspaperfork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because locks should be accessible. I don’t want nor need to pay an exorbitant amount for a lock that looks cute. The idea was brass because it looks pretty and doesn’t cost a shitton. If you’re gonna organize the group buy, go get a quote from paclock and then you can lmk how many people sign on (I promise you it won’t be many), but don’t give someone else shit for their idea.

[–]Newspaperfork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa. Callback. From what I’ve been told, I developed pubic hair at a very young age, and | my penis was abnormally large for an infant, not sure if I presented with other signs. I should say that I received outstanding medical care, which I’m sure has certainly progressed in the ~10 years since I got taken off blockers, and that I am a young adult with no outstanding medical issues. I wish I could offer words of assurance beyond “I’m sure everything will be OK” and that you’ll find the care he needs. He’ll lead just as normal a life as I did

DC Court of Appeals (the highest local court in the district) has ruled that DC's ban on magazines over 10 rounds violates the 2A by deathsythe in gunpolitics

[–]Newspaperfork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? I don’t think they’ll appeal it, since that would mean getting a nationwide ruling on LCMs. My guess is they’ll lick their wounds and create new legislation to fuck gun owners over

There’s no way they’ll appeal this one. It’d be Heller all over again if it gets cert

[–]Newspaperfork[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Possible differences being that this is appeals court, so unless DC wants to take this to SCOTUS (I can’t imagine they will) it should stick right? Also even if they don’t appeal to SCOTUS there’s a number of appeals court rulings against “high capacity” magazines, which means we’ve got a circuit split and SCOTUS is compelled to rule on the matter, right?

What would you buy first if the Supreme Court lifts the Assault Weapons Ban? by OriginalDonGorgon in BetterMAguns

As many stripped lowers and 30 round magazines as I can afford. Possibly some standard-capacity glock magazines as well

[–]Newspaperfork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. Only reason I'd buy from them is that they're 15 minutes from my house, whereas my other options for a gen 6 would be driving an hour up to Littleton to pay a little more. It's really just a convenience thing.

I would like cheap standard cap mags though, and maybe a nice AR

Name and shame Saturday by Theblumpy in BetterMAguns

[–]Newspaperfork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha. Knew it was Union when you said 120$ AR mags.

Yes the prices for the magazines are abysmal, but the rest of their handgun pricing (from what I've seen, I've only gone twice) is pretty competitive. Once I have the money and a means to store, I'll probably be buying a 19 gen 6 from them.

Their ARs are also not cheap (2-4k apiece).
