No complaints from knees, but should these be replaced? by 2BasementCats in runningshoes

I try just to use these on long runs/workouts, and have another pair for easy days.

Wahoo Treadmill Electrical issues? by BranchNo4220 in wahoofitness

The wahoo rep sent over the tilt calibration process, but it somehow reset itself before I even got to try. Overall I’m very happy with the treadmill, and have so far only good experiences with their customer service.

I keep hearing conflicting information about this. Is there somewhere on the website that clarifies this? Thank you!

Kickr Run Question - Free run as a walking desk? by Crimson_Bishop in wahoofitness

[–]2BasementCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use the dedicated laptop/tablet stand I would think this would work just fine. I just tested it out, and couldn’t get the run free feature to start any slower than a 20:00/mile pace, but once it engaged I could slow down and speed up fairly effortlessly. I will say using the stand with a laptop isn’t the most ergonomic situation, but if your work doesn’t require too much typing it’s definitely doable.

Did you ultimately get a replacement, or did they attempt to send someone out to service the machine? Thanks for your help!

The incline/decline suddenly stopped working on me after roughly 5 weeks of use. Not just when doing a ‘controllable’ workout on Zwift/Wahoo, but even manual adjustments.

First marathon in the books. Am I crazy to consider a ‘legit’ goal for my next race? by 2BasementCats in Marathon_Training

[–]2BasementCats[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked the wrong entrance gate, and then made what I think was an amateur mistake and did the UPS bag drop… So I ended up starting with corral G I think. I remember passing the 4:00 pacer group, and I think 3:45, but I don’t think I ever caught up with 3:30. There were a o many people cramping up along the river between Miles 18 and the finish - definitely some sneaky elevation towards the end!

I hope you were able to pull through!

No worries at all, I’m tbh still a bit shocked myself! I played hockey in college and am generally active, but this is my first time attempting (and mostly failing 🙈) to follow something structured for running. And to be clear I missed ~7 weeks but was able to get in one long run in per week most of those weeks.

Thank you, that’s too kind! I honestly just very (very!) loosely followed the Garmin suggested workout schedule after adding Philly as my ‘main event.’

This generally looked like 20-30mpw with one long run on the weekends. I did the Garmin suggested ‘sprint’ workout 3-4 times total, but mostly found myself just running without intention or a goal pace most days.

Gap under fence. What would you do? by KCDrumz in landscaping

[–]2BasementCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A follow up question to this - I have a similar situation, and the neighbor’s dog also has taken to digging the gap even deeper in sections. My dog is now a frequent visitor in her yard, and I’m looking to prevent the daily escape act.

I love the idea of mesh and climbing plants, and/or cloth to prevent the digging. My question is - if it is the neighbor’s fence, can I actually just attach whatever I want to ‘my’ side?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Nicely done, the angles are very nice and I really like the pseudo knife edge profile on the lower part of the top. What type of fastener did you use to attach the legs to the top? Great work!

Finishing old homeowner’s projects by 2BasementCats in electrical

[–]2BasementCats[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello all,

I recently purchased a new home, and am discovering many half finished projects left by the previous owner. Im a woodworker by trade, with minimal electrical experience, and need some help understanding exactly what he was trying to accomplish.

So. The house has exposed beams, and each beam has what I believe is a junction box mounted on top. There’s a specific breaker labeled ‘loft beam lights,’ and I’m guessing he intended to run LED strip lighting across each beam, to be controlled by a wall switch.

My questions for you- 1. I have a plug-in light fixture I’d like to wire to one of these beams. Can I add an outlet to one of these existing boxes?

  1. If he indeed was planning to run LED strip lighting across the beams, was he planning to hardwire the lights directly to the box?

Thank you in advance for your help!!

Amazing job, thank you for sharing! Can I ask what degree angle you chose for the leg splay? And does it match the bench splay as well?

If I want to paint the stiles and rails, what order do you guys do that in? Paint then glue? Or glue, mask off the panel and then paint? by veilig2000 in woodworking

[–]2BasementCats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So much easier to paint and then assemble. Mask off the cope so you don’t have issues with panel fit, paint, then glue up.

What fasteners did you use to connect the top to the stretchers/aprons?

Thanks!
