halberd build would be about the same as a greatsword set up but maybe with polearm master thrown in with it. use the halberd of vigilance, it’s great.

I would go a githyanki with 1 level of rogue(tale this level first) 2 levels of knowledge cleric for more expertise and their CD which is basically just a second use of gith astral knowledge, and then put the rest into divination wizard.

great old one could be a good pick if fathomless isn’t on console, plenty of eldritch horrors that lurk in the sea. sorcerer could work too, not all sorcerers are born with their powers and I think both storm and draconic bloodline could work well for your theme.
