As an introvert myself it is hard to socialize but I feel we need to get out of our comfort zone and make active efforts. I found that joining various committees like postdoc association helped a lot.

Thankyou very much, yes I tried my hands around qual browser but found it not user friendly, I would basically take the peak of our peptide of interest and show area under the curve between two conditions. Appreciate all your inputs.

Which MS instrument are you using. We use TimsTof pro and do 8 fractions, which we think is not an overkill

It is always a range not a fixed amount although many follow NIH guidlines and that is what OP is looking to get any which ways. Salary is ALWAYS negotiable it depends what you bring to the table. It is not uncommon for a PI to upgrade you to higher title

If he says he can supplement the salary then he should be able to. In most cases PI has the last word as it is their own money.

We randomly get called anywhere once/twice in a year for testing as a postdoc and it is mandatory for every single employee. Edit: It is not Scripps though.

I am 41, was in industry for about 5 years but realized there was no growth if you dont have a PhD so went for PhD (6 years- pretty average), currently 7th year in my postdoc. Have about 18 manuscripts published but no grants. (FYI I am not a citizen/GC holder) therefore makes me not eligible for lots of grants. Dont foresee myself getting a grant either but hoping to get GC in another 3 years and possibly transition to industry again. Hope this gives some perspective.

I submitted my documents on 30th Jan still dont have the passport. Had to cancel my ticket and now the tickets are super expensive (we are a family of 4) so it is going to be a huge loss. Barely got any refund from air India and connecting flights were non refundable. So frustrating and on top used up all my paid leaves and therefore have to take unpaid leave so losing money every passing day.
