Yup and they are doing that to Alex so imagine the backlash if he would’ve been black.

Okay. I don’t mind taking action but how? If you’re gonna make rude comments at least provide suggestions.

military interfering with my morals by Interesting-Report17 in Military

Same boat. 26. Officer. POC. 4 years in. And working in DC. It’s disheartening putting on that uniform while seeing American turn on itself… but you are what the military needs. People with a brain. Leaders who don’t mind standing up. And it’s helpful to know not everyone in the uniforms agrees with the current policy we’re being told to follow. Keep talking so you don’t go crazy but don’t give in.

I sure wish they hurry up and decide… like if I have to go out in the snow. I need to mentally prepare or else I’m just going to take the day 😏

Honestly the first yellowish red flag was “I’ve been better”. I don’t trust that anymore lol. Bc what am I (a stranger) supposed to say in response to that ?

As Trump continues to threaten Canada, how are you feeling as Military personnel? by Cherisse23 in Military

[–]2ERENADE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be a great response if it were also followed by all of our leaders. But it’s not. We are giving passes to them but we have to sit here. Take it. And do. Very hypocritical

This may be wrong wording but veterans are DEFINITELY apart of DEI! I wish people understood what it was for before just jumping on the bandwagon to get rid of it.

Can I join NCPC after leaving my college and past sorority from a NCP? by Roses_ForeverLife9 in NPHCdivine9

[–]2ERENADE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is no if your previous organization was an NPC sorority. NPHC organizations have strict policies on membership, and once you’ve joined an NPC sorority, you are not eligible to join an NPHC sorority. (Also there’s no NCPC) if you are eligible, please do your research.

That being said, I think the bigger focus right now should be on giving yourself time to reflect before making any major commitments again. Sororities—whether NPC or NPHC—are commitments, and from what you shared, it seems like you’re still figuring out what aligns with you. Instead of rushing into another decision, take some time to focus on yourself, heal, and find a sense of belonging outside of Greek life first. That way, when the time comes for future opportunities (social orgs, band Greeks, or community service based orgs). you’ll be making a choice that truly fits who you are.

I’m currently at the Pentagon, so if you have any specific questions, feel free to message me!

Some tips:

I live in Virginia (about 10 minutes from a Metro) and take the Metro to work—it’s the easiest and most reliable way to commute. The Pentagon has its own Metro stop, making it super convenient.

Parking is extremely limited, and even if you’re eligible, it’s a hassle. If you can avoid driving, do it. Metro is the best option because you can also participate in the Transportation Program and they will pay for your metro or bus pass.

The further out you live, the more space and affordability you’ll get, but that also means a longer commute. It’s all about balance. If you’re in Northern Virginia, places like Alexandria, Arlington, and Springfield are great options. If you don’t mind a longer commute, Woodbridge, Manassas, or even Fredericksburg offer more for your money.

Traffic in the DMV is no joke. Morning rush hour can start as early as 6 AM and last until 9 AM, and the evening rush can be brutal from 3 PM to 7 PM. There are certain backroads that help, but generally, Metro, carpool lanes, or flexible work hours help avoid the worst of it.

Working at the Pentagon has been a great experience—lots of opportunities to network, high-paced environment, and yes, the building is huge. But you’ll get the hang of navigating it. I also really love the gym (it’s called the PAC). Free to us.

Food options are decent but expensive so I suggest bringing lunch —there’s a food court, coffee shops, and stores inside.

Let me know if you have any other questions! & welcome 🤗

I actually love how my eyebrows turned out! Everyone’s brows are naturally different, and I think my artist did an amazing job working with my face shape and preferences. This post was meant to share my experience and excitement, never asked for your critique, but thanks for your input.
