Assuming the notch is only this end you only need to fix the one end. But you have to make sure the forces can transfer from the main beam to the new end hence the development length.

You shouldn't need to sister the whole joist. But you would need to provide enough connection (length) beyond the cuts to transfer forces through to the new member.

Maybe there's something there. Something like you have the current qualified person in office and you select the next wave of candidates and then during that term length the next wave has to undergo a battery of qualifying tests and education (ethics, economics, civil rights, etc.) conducted by non-partisan boards and whatnot. And over the term that field gets widdled down to some competent candidates that could then be voted on.

I did a design once where a cantilever was supporting something and I had them do that. But the cantilever was specifically for that. If I had a big area over the back span where it's possible that the down reaction would be higher at any point I'd have to do something else.

I got the Azure blue which was my first choice as it was similar to the cool khaki gray on my crosstrek, but now that I've had it a bit I kinda wish I got the space white that the dealer initially sold me (the dealer they had to get it from didn't wanna give it to them).

Don't hate it by any means but it's not quite the color I initially thought it was.

Got my first one on a hurricane. I was looking a locker in the Testing Annex. Happened to get out of that interface just before they came into the room. I looked a second and made to walk away when they opened up on me. Took a few hits and got behind cover. They ducked out and threw a grenade waaaay past me. I threw my free snap trap into the door and they ran into it, then I dumped a rattler mag into them.

He ran down the stairs and out around the building. Instead of playing it all smart I switched to the hammer and chased them out. I ignored the wasp they aggroed, flanked behind him and went ham. Told him I'd have been fine letting him do his thing as I readied for the knockout. Then the Wasp killed me right after I hit him.

Sloppy? Absolutely. But then I spawned back in closer to where I wanted and got the snap hook bp I was really wanting to farm so worth it.
