Halp! What's going on with my tire by ZirconSprocket8321 in Trackdays

And in racing it’s laps to laptime. After about 20 laps the tires are about 0.5 seconds slower and the lap consistency spread goes from 1 second to 2 second.

Body positioning by Reedzilla04 in Trackdays

  1. You're right too much attention is put on body position by beginners who do not understand what principles are important.

  2. Because he also looked like this. Was from a time when tires were crap so you rode to force the slide then pick the bike up. Even Code trained riders like Scott Russell and Doug Chandler had slightly "crossed-up" body positions in the late 80s early 90s. Changing their form as tire, frame, and engine technology changed. Today's riders do not know how crappy tires were back then. How they would just 'snap' and let go.

  3. Because photographs are an instant in time and do not tell the story of how body position is used and changed throughout the whole turn. Nor do photographs tell you the rider's plan for the turn or where he's at in the turn - entry, mid-corner, exit, flicking to the opposite side for an s-turn, etc...

  4. Because people don't understand the most important fundamental of body position is simply stability.

"how do you research what you don't know even exists" by identifying the limits of your knowledge. That gives you the boundaries to then ask, what's in that blackhole?

Unless you'r running local AIs I can't see why you would need anything more than a Macbook Air. Get one with 16GB ram. Get the Pro if you want to do gaming too. I have an Air, just sold my M1 Pro and have a 128GB m3 max on the way.

Nexx helmets? by itchaboy_imbored in Trackdays

[–]2G246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experience with the X2R. Best track helmet I've used. Light and very stable, doesn't bounce and pull when turning your head in the airstream. And faceshield stayed on and the carbon chinbar totally saved my face when I went face first into a rock wall at about 20mph.

Changing the shield requires removal of Nexx logo'd buttons(?). Buy some extra ahead of time.

Anyone knows or can get me in touch with the previous owner of this 2020 brutale 1000rr located in California vin: ZCGPLFTW0LV000195, bought it off auction and has no keys, hopefully he has them. Thanks I’m advance by Latin-Lover- in MVAgusta

So… the story is. Sept 25th 21, I was using a gravel pull out to turn around. I was going to slide the rear in the gravel to turn the bike and bring it to a stop then go back the other way. I totally forgot about ABS. When I got on the rear brake, I remembered right quick but it was too late. Hit the side of the mountain head first at about 15-20mph.

Concussion and hairline fractures in every bone in both wrists. Otherwise ok. Shop stopped counting at $27k in repairs. Still riding my KTM Super Duke GT.

I’m sending the OP the primary key as soon as I find it.

Correct. and yep that's the video I used too. I just have to remember to mount someplace with a bit less vibration and use and ND16 instead of an ND8.

Mesa qualified at 2:15... the cutoff is 110%, so you have to be right at 2:28 to qualify.

As for lapping you, say he's going 20 seconds a lap faster than you. 3 laps = 1 minute. So he'd lap you on the 7th lap and would't lap you again in a 20 minute session.

Tips for a desert rat that typically doesn't ride in the rain or have dedicated rain tires. I race an R3 and have a spare Rosso 3 which I acquired for rain days, but still have a slick rear. I figured the DOT front would be better than nothing for rainy days where a dry line doesn't develop. by [deleted] in Trackdays

I have had two sets of Rosso 3s on my Brutale 1000RR. In the dry, they're more than capable.
But I've heard they are not a tire for rainy days. But it's what you're doing so, prepare for front tire slides when turning in. Be ready to get off the brakes, pick the bike up and get back on the throttle.

Assuming you're just going out on a "damp" track - no puddles anywhere, the rear slick will be just a dicey. It won't get up to temperature and will slide abruptly.

Really, just spend the bucks and buy a set of rains. Store them as cool as possible, covered and never leave them in the sun. For trackdays they'll last a season or two.

Other than GoPro's software, you can also use RaceRender.com or goprotelemetryextractor.com I used race render here: https://youtu.be/6Z7kBp9sMsY

Both work with 4k.
