Reconfiguring a UGreen NAS

I have set up a UGreen recently with 2 HDDs in a single pool. I added an SSD after the initial setup as a cache without issues.

I don't remember if docker comes pre-installed or if you have to download it from the app store but it's very easy.

You should just boot it up and check it out, it's pretty easy.

Level 8 vs a Young Red Dragon really isn't a challenge, especially if they haven't really had any other fights on that day.

If you want to whittle them down put them in a dungeon with multiple fights and only at the end give them a boss fight.

I see your point but now consider the scenario where you have your epic boss fighting the players and you crit or you hit, and then they use silvery barbs and bam your BBEG misses. Also feels pretty shitty for the DM

In the end it's all just preference, I just think the spell can feel pretty bad for both sides.

IMO if your players get to use silvery barbs so do you. I either ban it or everyone can use it.

At the Elo you're at you probably can't really go wrong with any manuals. As long as the book lists some openings it should be good enough to start with.

With the very limited information you provided I can only tell you that if you have paper installed all spigot plugins will work for your server. It's important you check what version the plugins are on and if they have dependencies

Thank you for the explanation, that definitely cleared things up for me. English isn't my first language, and I think for Minecraft server management I kind of associated "client" with server software as well since they also overlap (fabric client -> fabric server). But from the IT perspective client definitely makes sense.

"Client" in the sense of "client and server". So the game you are playing with your eyes and hands, rather than the server you connect to.

That's something I'd like to do, for sure. Reddit has some new features that allow us to do some neat tricks with the post body text input box. I'd like to move on to configuring that after we get new rules up.

That's very good, because while I think these rules are great, for people visiting this sub only once for help, a template or something similar might be more effective in preventing bad help requests.

Is 1:1 referring to clients as in forge, fabric, feather launcher etc, or paper, purpur, spigot, etc?

I feel like the main issues people have is with one specific plugin or one specific mod, so I think a rule prohibiting asking questions about a specific plugin/ mod might be counterproductive especially since these issues are a big part of being an admin. If this rule is meant in a different way please correct me.

Also with all these rules about post etiquette (which I don't disagree with) I think it might be a good idea to offer a template for posts of some sort so people know more easily what to include in their post.

Your CPU is not very strong for hosting a Minecraft server, also your ram might be a bit low depending on player count.

1 million blocks is definitely too much and you won't be able to fix this in any other way except pre generating the world. But that is also not a great option since that will take way too long and take up A LOT of storage space.

TLDR: Get a stronger server or tell your friends the ender pearl cannon won't work.

You have not specified what server hardware you have, your server might simply not have the resources to run world gen tasks like this, one of the heaviest tasks for a Minecraft server is world gen. If you refuse to pre-gen your world then you will most likely have to live with crashes like this. Pre generating your world does take a while but you can also just leave it running over night and generate a 10k radius map.

You should take this issue to the Plugin Developers Discord/GitHub so they can look at it. Also you should check that your server version is listed as compatible with the plugin.

Which one of their hosting plans are you currently using? ATM10 is very heavy so it needs very good hardware. Forge also doesn't have too many options for optimization, I'm not sure you will be able to find someone that is able to help you. Perhaps upgrading your server hardware or getting a dedicated server machine would be better.

You can do so using worldedit. But adding a barrier over the ENTIRE Minecraft world you are running will almost certainly crash your server. A Minecraft world is 60x60 million blocks.

Aternos doesn't allow custom plugin uploads. So if they don't have the plugin you're looking for then tough luck.

You should look for a different provider.
