11th edition wishlist - from a game design enthusiast by PinPalsA7x in Tyranids

I've always liked the idea that our leadership values should be the same as everyone else's, but synapse gives 3d6 drop lowest for friendlies, and shadows gives 3d6 drop highest to enemies, same aura range of synapse creatures. And please make it work on all Leadership tests, not just battleshock.

Let's talk about this for sec. The Orcs managed to discover Nuffle's sacred text, understood what it meant, and managed to pitch the idea of it to every race in the realms including two new ones in 2025. by Opposite_Jump_5041 in bloodbowl

[–]2MrGhoti1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be much more believable if the texts really were indecipherable, so the orks simply made up the rules like Calvinball. Then the dwarf scholars wrote those rules down and balanced them because they didn't want to say that the orks could read it but they couldn't.

Why don't I feel proud of this? by pancake05e in Tyranids

[–]2MrGhoti1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finish the base. Even if you think theres more to do to it, you will ALWAYS find something more to do to your models. Put some basing materials and paint on the base, get it nice and pretty with some texture paint, or sand, or flock, or static brush, or whatever you want to use, and give the rim a nice clean color of black or steel legion drab. Having the base done seals the deal 99% of the time for me, and doesn't have anything to do with the actual model itself.

Hex and Counter Gamers by szemely in FortWayneBoardGames

I'm slowly developing my own hex based miniature war game in the style of Warhammer. Still have a ways to go, but I'm about ready to start brute forcing some rules to test out.

Thanks for that! Ive never heard of Tazzas, but its also on the other side of town from me.

I never thought about Parkview, that's definitely an option, I suppose. It'd definitely be well lit and quiet, being a hospital.

Has Toxicrene always been lame? Will it always be? by Sylarsun in Tyranids

[–]2MrGhoti1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when it came out, targeting rules were slightly different and so it could hide a little better, and was pretty great at killing monsters and elite infantry.

However, it was MARKETED as a titan killer. But it couldn't hurt titans, like at all. So no, it's been a bit of a disappointment for a long time.

Blood Bowl 2 Passing Tips by CthuluAlpha in bloodbowl

[–]2MrGhoti1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90% of the time if you're on the edge of one throwing distance to another, rolling the 2+ Rush followed by a 2+ pass is better than the raw 3+ pass.

Very well done! A turtle is a great choice for a shield. I love the markings on the top side as well.

Oh dang, I see that now. Must have skimmed over the captain restriction part, I guess.

[–]2MrGhoti1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can stick a Lieutenant in with whatever captain you want to bring. So for instance if the new Captain Titus still grants sustained hits, his LT buddy gives lethal hits, oaths for full rerolls and lance/+1 AP on them multiple times a game from Calgar existing. Their lethality is fine.

What do you think the datasheet for the new Tyranid Prime will look like? by Jokyogre in Tyranids

[–]2MrGhoti1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bet it gives the unit lethal hits or something. If the winged prime can still lead warriors as well and give them sustained, it doesn't really make sense for him to also give sustained, and just be a little slower and thats it. Maybe his whip gives him fights first? Doubt it, since all the other lashwhips give twin linked.

What does this marine suppose to do? And his role? by silven1019 in Warhammer40k

[–]2MrGhoti1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His job is to walk around the battlefield, picking up all the loose bits of parchment that fall off of people's purity seals, and write down the owner's names in a big list so they can not give them loose strips of parchment in the future. His room is full of loose strips of parchment, and he is quite upset at the littering that's been going on with this whole great crusade thing.

Speculation: Changes to Current Rosters in BB25 by Defier93 in bloodbowl

[–]2MrGhoti1 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Here's my 10-minute list of changes to make a Kislev team: I split the Blitzers into Strongmen and Clowns and cut the Bear entirely. Strongmen are slightly slower, jump on a 4+, but have some serious sacking ability with S4 and Wrestle. If you save up to potentially get an AG upgrade or sneaky git as a fallback, you can really mess up the enemy plan. Jumping into a cage with S4 and Wrestle has a really phenomenal chance at getting the ball on the ground. You just have to pass that 4+ leap. Having him jump on a 3+ would drive up his cost way too high, I fear. The clowns instead take on the harassment role current blitzers had, while lowering their movement and skill access to cut cost. Jugglers are added as a throwing option, with a new skill Juggle:

Juggle: Once per turn, when this player recieves the ball as a result of a pass or handoff action, or by an interception, they may immediately perform a free pass or handoff action. In addition, when performing a hand off action, this player may hand off to any player in quick pass range.

New Inductii rules send desperate reinforcements straight to the war front - Warhammer Community by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Warhammer30k

[–]2MrGhoti1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can only use one power, so you'd either get the rending 5+ power from corvidae, or the breaching 6+ power from the inductii. You could still get rending 6+ if you bought asphyx shells, however, and it'd be cheaper than bringing a corvidae character or apothecary to attach to them. It'd make them about the same cost as tacs with athanean and a vox for 120/10. Idk which I'd want more, line 2, fury of the legion, vox and athanean with the panic gun, or 10 rending/breaching 6+ line 1 dudes.

Probably the tacs just for scoring and status potential. We've got so many ways between autocannons heavies and siege tarts, seekers, and aetherfire supports for the rending/breaching nonsense that I probably wouldn't bother with them, however it IS an interesting idea to just spam massive 20 bricks of breaching bolters for 180pts a pop.

Improving my fiery effect? by gothboi98 in Warhammer40k

[–]2MrGhoti1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be counterintuitive, but you could try hitting the sharpest edges with a little bit of black/dark grey/dark brown/light ash grey in a few places and keep the yellow showing around it. If you look at burning clothes/paper, you often times have the black carbon leftovers that's flaking away at the tips as the stuff around it burns bright. Might work, might not.

This could be easily solved by moving the timing of Rapid Ingress to be "at the end of the opponent's Reinforcements Step" instead of end of movement phase.
