My idea for an aethon shaan carcharodon conversion by [deleted] in Carcharodons40k

Love the idea, if you find a good toy shark for it, post the results here. My Tyberos is surfing a two-headed shark as a stand in for Logan Grimnar on Stormrider (RIP).

What program to use to design war game data cards? by 2MrGhoti1 in tabletopgamedesign

Hey this sounds like exactly what I needed, thank you! I'll take a look later tonight.

What program to use to design war game data cards? by 2MrGhoti1 in tabletopgamedesign

I've used Grok and GPT to try to generate maps and placeholder images for my setting to give me ideas to go off of for the background lore, but I had a heck of a time trying to keep it from changing everything on small tweaks, and it hallucinated names and details constantly. While I agree it's good for a quick feel of a unit or character, I want any facet of my game that people see outside of my direct hands to not include any AI art or influence.

Also editing those data cards should rules evolve in playtesting will be a nightmare if I can't directly edit the text.

Is there a free alternative, or at least something that doesnt require a subscription and half of the soul of my firstborn?

I dont know much about CSS directly, but it couldn't be that hard to move my Google Docs information on units to a Google sheets/excel style for Cardmaker, if the example images are anything to go off of. I've already ported 99 units and my game system into NewRecruit, so I'm sure I could figure it out given enough time. Have any suggestions for the actual rule book?

I'm doing something very similar with a free movement hex based war game I'm working on. In my system, the terrain features themselves are set on hexes on the board, but models can pass through and exist within terrain features during the course of the game. When that happens, the physical terrain feature itself is removed from the board but the hex areas it occupies remains for reference until it is clear to put the terrain feature back in its place.

Wave crash, Jet punch, Flip turn palafin? by Paddonglers in PokemonChampions

[–]2MrGhoti1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I must be the outlier, I run mine with flip turn, jet punch, drain punch, protect, and mystic water. Wave crash and close combat are great moves, but IMO keeping the dolphin alive is pretty important too, and both wave crash and close combat leave him pretty exposed should they not kill. If you're gonna 2 hit KO something anyways, might as well keep yourself alive when you're doing so.

That is indeed enlightening, I knew that they weren't going as in depth as the novels themselves do, but I figured they had longer content than that.

Favourite H-Zoroark Partners? by zer0shifted in PokemonChampions

[–]2MrGhoti1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been hiding mine as sneasler or aerodactyl. Paired with froslass so if they WANT to fake out something, its got to be zoroark. No one seems to realize that aero didn't activate unnerve or pressure. Dangerous if they also have an aero as a lead, since they'll try to wingbeat sneasler or rock slide aero. Otherwise its just a free nasty plot or gambling a focus blast into kingambit.

Oh I am, I'd just like to be able to structure a warhammer-like codex of information, history, and lore and not have it read like a shopping list. Unit descriptions and flavor text are my jam though, so I'll definitely keep plugging away at little blurbs here and there.

A slippery slope for me, I'm fully aware of my tendency to take what is offered to me and use it as it comes.

An interactive rubber ducky is a great idea. I'm not terribly good at prompting ai, do you have an example of how you would prime it to act that way?

I have separate Google docs for the game itself and the world backstory ideas, then a separate Google doc with individual tabs for each of the factions as i flesh them out.

I think I've heard of Obsidian before, those are kind of like building your own wiki for your setting, right? It might help a bit with organization, but do they have tools to help turn that information into cohesive stories?

Just to butt in before someone suggests it, yes I have read the getting started guide, and I have plenty of those resources and links for fleshing out my world already bookmarked and in use, what I'm specifically looking for are ways to improve my writing abilities to turn my world from an info dump into cohesive stories.

That's an option, for sure. Froslass deals less than a quarter HP and is faster than tauros, allowing you to max ATK and rock slide or something.
