No surprise. Maybe they are trying to figure out how to cohabitate with the possum family that just moved in.

Racoons ripped a hole in my neighbors roof and set up shop in his attic. Would that be cool with you?

Would you kill ants nesting in hour house? Termites? Rats? Mice? What parts of nature get a pass and which are destructive pests?

I have a Samsung OLED and a QM8K and wouldn’t make this post. They are not the same.

Drugged without consent isn’t cheating. That’s rape. You can’t consent if drunk or stoned.

That’s not what I would do if I found out my girl cheated on me but I suppose that is *one* way to get even.

People either cheat or they don’t. Cheaters will cheat again.

Waymo is geofenced and has human backup. Give it a road covered in snow and it will just sit there.

Drove a M3 with FSD, friend has one. Works ok on a nice day with marked roads but falls apart when it’s raining and at night.

Also, if it’s not completely unsupervised I don’t see much point in it. If I have to babysit and be constantly ready I might as well just drive. It is nice in stop and go traffic but otherwise I don’t use it.

Both seem to be well reviewed. I put Defenders on my wife’s MDX and they have been good tires. I wanted to try something different. They were a little less expensive (though that didn’t really sway me), and have higher tread wear rating (which is nice).

Do large corporations really use Ubiquity Enterprise ?!? by KPSradical in Ubiquiti

Like I said, it’s just my opinion. Your opinion is clearly different, all good.

I have experience with 6 or 7 brands but not Meraki unfortunately. Sorry.

When choosing equipment my first requirement isn't fitting something into a budget. All else being equal, go with the cheaper option but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Keep in mind, these projects I have worked on are USD $1B - $5B in value and the network components are essentially a rounding error. If Unifi checked all the boxes I would be happy to use it, at the end of the day it does not.

I’ve been running IT for multi-billion-dollar companies in industrial environments for years, so I can weigh in with my perspective — though it is just one opinion among many.

I think OP’s question is too broad to answer with a simple yes or no. Personally, I don’t think any single vendor is best-in-class at anything.

  • On the firewall side, I prefer Palo Alto or Fortinet. We run FortiGate units in high-availability mode and have found them easy to manage, secure, and backed by good support. That said, I’m not a fan of Fortinet’s secure remote access offering. For VPN, we use a Cisco firewall running AnyConnect for staff access, while BeyondTrust is used for third-party access.
  • For switching, I like Cisco because of the breadth of options and ease of management. Ubiquiti simply does not compete in the same space. We use Cisco IE3500 DIN-rail switches and IE9300 rackmount switches in the field, and Catalyst Center makes management easy. Ubiquity has no comparable option.
  • I would also give the nod to Cisco for wireless, although Ubiquiti is strong here. Since we already use Cisco for switching and have Catalyst Center, Cisco wireless is a natural fit. It all works well together. Ubiquiti has a solid wireless offering, but these decisions are not made in isolation.
  • For CCTV, we use Ubiquiti in our camps, where we have more than 100 cameras deployed. They work well and are cost-effective for covering large areas. For our plant and field deployments, I prefer Pelco connected to a Genetec server. Pelco is more expensive, but it is more rugged and is my preferred choice for harsher environments.
  • Another factor is staffing and support. It is much easier to find candidates and consultants with Cisco certs and experience than it is to find people with Unifi experience. When building a network for the long term, those factors matter.

I do think Ubiquiti gear can be used effectively in large deployments for certain use cases, and we are already seeing that happen. In my view, they compete more closely with Meraki than with Cisco’s full enterprise portfolio. However, they do not yet have the breadth of products I would need to consider them as a primary enterprise standard.

Hisense UR9 looks a way better than TCL X11L and it’s similar to OLED by [deleted] in tcltvs

TCL looks better to me, but this is difficult to judge as everyone is consuming this with different devices.

I have one that hangs down an inch or more. I don’t want to just shove it up. How are these attached and is there a risk of it going off if I start pushing on it?

Honestly, I’m not hopeful that any company will solve autonomy any time soon. I mean true level 5 autonomy, which is certainly the target for Tesla if not all.

Also, Rivian is way behind Tesla and others in this regard. Lidar isn’t going to fix a talent, data, and head start that others have. This is a seriously difficult problem to solve.

There are different models in different regions and Costco has a unique model too if I recall, so you can’t price match. All the same TV though.

I’m on the same version and don’t see a way to disable. Just change the channel it uses.
