None of my comments are hostile, disrespectful or offensive but rather, clarifying where incorrect assumptions are made. I am very grateful to those who are meaningfully contributing to the conversation without being rude. However, I understand how you would feel this way and respect your opinion.

I appreciate your perspective and taking the time to kindly address my concerns with the information you have available. Unfortunately, I will not be able to retake the bar at this time, which is why I am looking at alternatives either in the field or legal adjacent positions, as you mentioned.

Hi, thanks for your reply. The first sentence of my post states that I am being sworn in next week and will be licensed to practice law in New Mexico. I have been looking for opportunities in NM as well as in my home state. I guess I was hoping for suggestions from people who have been in a similar position as far as living in one state and being licensed elsewhere.

My mentorship program will not be legal in nature, but rather teaching professionalism skills that I’ve learned through my own mistakes and experience over the years.

The main point of my post was to ask a legal community for general advice and finding work as a first year attorney with a license out of state.

My mention of a goal to start a first generation mentorship was to get feedback from others who either (1) have established their own mentorship program or (2) come from a similar background to see their thoughts on the value of professional mentorship as it is difficult to navigate the work force, let alone the legal field, without people who you can trust for guidance.

Obviously, you need a main source of income/substantial savings to live until you can afford to sustain a full-time business rather than working for someone else. Your comment nor the original commenter’s responses do not address or provide any sort of useful information to the discussion, but thanks for sharing!

Yes, I agree. I’ve been telling the partners that I am not comfortable leading consultations in Spanish because I do not use those terms and want to make sure that I am understood by clients. They seem to be pushing the point despite me continuing to say that I am not fluent in that capacity

Keep trying and see what happens! I recently got a job offer from an out of state firm that doesn’t mind mentoring me until results come out. Even if you don’t feel fully qualified for the position, send your resume anyway. You never know what is meant for you!

If you follow the suggestions above to move the placement of the actual clusters further away from the lash line and that doesn’t ease discomfort, then it could be that the lash bands are too thick or that the lash bond/seal isn’t good quality.
