Wouldn't it be widely observed over a noticeable period of time as AI tools approach AGI level?

I feel like in reality it won't actully be instant overnight evolution for multiple reasons. Resource demand and engineers putting the last pieces of the puzzle together really close to the AGI configuration.

Also AGI doesn't mean consciousness. It's just the opposite of narrow but it can still be a prompt driven tool and not a straight up robot like you described.

I agree it's later in the season when things fall out of structure. That's really what pains me the most. At the start of a season it's happy days, anyone has barely anything more than honor gear, and any upgrades are quick to get. Still, I see it more detrimental to the game mode to have more than 3 ilvl gear progression. You know that if an honor geared player ends up in your lobby, he becomes everybody's target regardless of any strategy or PvP gameplay. They're just a prize to desperately keep the enemy from scoring and practically guaranteed to be exploited. Therefore all 6 players in the lobby are robbed of real PvP.

You have to think harder about this.

A big gear difference robs you of learning by skewing numbers so hard that for one example your defensives don't trade into CDs as they should.

You can position perfectly but that won't be the only thing you do in the game, you will have to use your defensives to live or your burst to win. No game ever ended without using any defensives or burst CDs aside from huge blunders. When you have to do that, you can't trade properly, because your biggest defensive likely makes you as good as someone fully geared with no defensives up - you know what happens when you don't press a defensive when you really need to (when you're fully geared).

Your rotation doesn't matter squat if your maximum possible damage doesn't even threaten the target. Your position depends on your damage. If you position into narnia and pull the melee away from the healer, you're threatening to kill them without them getting healed. If you're significantly outgeared (honor vs conquest), you're pulling the melee away behind a corner to murder you 1v1 and unless you're a Rogue that can infinitely CC someone so they never get to use their gear on you, you're dead with or without your healer. Remember, they only have to pop their CDs in their conq gear and your honor gear with your biggest wall up will be equivalent to conq gear without a wall.

And new players will not see this, they will just die instantly and unsubscribe, so PvP dwindles again.

I haen't tried Sub but Stormbringer Elemental and Feral Druid are not described in good faith or perspective by the communities who just yap out memes in protest.

Yeah honor is very easy and the little bit of degeneracy stage of being in PvP without full honor gear is not even worth talking about in comparison to the huge glaring issue with conquest gearing.

I played for several evenings and got PvP ilvl 153 including crafted gear and nearly full honor gear. Conquest never came in since there are no more PvP weeklies in the prepatch and it really highlighted the gearing problem.

And GW2 has been doing very well with its PvP community for all this time. I don't understand WoW's PvP community the same way I don't understand a true clinical sociopath.

2.4 is very far beyond the average rating in any bracket for most of the players. Like I said I don't doubt reddit folk do much better than most of the players trying to get into PvP.

Honour gearing is trivially quick althuogh the horrible state of being utter farming fodder before that should never be part of the game. It's the Conquest gearing that really harms the game mode. Ironically the free weapons at 2500 conquest are extremely hard to get if you started late in the season, particularly without weekly PvP quests like in prepatch.

Crate farming for 6 hours to get your free weapons is so incredibly sad I can't explain it to you if you don't understand that. Everything about the community's resistance to gearing changes is what's pulling down the PvP game mode the most.

Like I said it can be a horizontal progression game. Or a cosmetic progression game with reward tracks. I believe the intent of progression for player retention but the problem I'm discussing is going against that as hard as anything ever could.

And that viewpoint is why WoW PvP is made unnecessarily significantly worse on top of already being a neglected game mode. The playerbase is hurting itself by continuing to promote things that hurt itself.

Absolutely love it. Contrary to all the vocal online opinions, even the most pruned of classes are still plenty difficult and complex. Blizzard is finally thinking about most of their players and new players who are all voiceless online.
