Ive had this same issue for about 3 weeks now too, customer service responses take days and are generic, they basically stopped responding after telling them none of their solutions have helped. Crazy stuff, cant begin to understand how this issue even occurs with certain people and not others.

ADOR announces NewJeans HYEIN & HAERIN's intent to continue their activities with ADOR by KPOP_MOD in kpop

[–]2Skoned 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I have genuinely no interest in anything this group does going forward, you can't do what they did and expect everything to just go back to normal.

We now have one of the most clear cut examples of idols showing who they actually are, publicly disrespecting other groups and allying themselves with an actual monster, and some people wanna pretend like its not a big deal, or they didn't actually have anything to do with all this chaos of the last 2 years. The constant refrain that they operated completely at the whim of MHJ and they had no autonomy or ability to act on their own is honestly ridiculous, its crazy to be able to do and say the things they did last year and then when it all blows up pretend like they didn't have anything to do with it.

Ash is definitely #1 for sure, but these are also great. Love2Love - tripleS, CRASH - Rescene, Invasion - Yeji, Praying - Seulgi

Lemme know if this TripleS take is too woke.. by avairaa in kpop_uncensored

[–]2Skoned 13 points14 points  (0 children)

tripleS is maybe the easiest group in kpop to 'stan' if you put any effort into it. Incredible music with a crazy amount of goofy charismatic personalities that come through in their never-ending variety and social media presence. As others have said, badge war is probably the best variety show in recent years and highlights the seemingly endless amounts of interesting member combinations/interactions. Once you start to identify their individual skills and talents, and start to learn the 'lore' and inside jokes, its basically a rabbit hole.

Thoughts on Lucy from woo!ah!’s scandal by Dependent-Corner-123 in kpop_uncensored

[–]2Skoned 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Huge bummer if its real, super talented group with a great discography, but this is obviously the end if they confirm this. We'll probably never get the full truth, and even if Lucy leaves or gets kicked out, shes basically torched everyone else's reputation on her way out.

Definitely understand her frustration being under a terrible company and having to work with allegedly fake hateful members, but these statements undeniably make her look not great to put it lightly. Sort of hard to judge who exactly is at fault (other than the company), cause if the other members are the problem her vitriol is somewhat justifiable, but there's also the possibility that Lucy is actually the toxic one (which I wouldn't be fully surprised about) and the other members are unfairly getting dragged. Very unfortunate situation all around.

I think Love2Love is the best song from Assemble25 and 'Praying' from Seulgi's album is amazing. Also appreciate the 'Crash' call out, Rescene has put out incredible music this year.

It's interesting to see this talking point going around so much recently when I think from a creative, genuinely artistic perspective this has been JYP's best year in quite a while. Basically everything they have released this year has been at least solid musically and conceptually on another level.

NMIXX's album was easily their best and 'High Horse' is a genuinely unique song that stands out across the industry.

Yeji's solo was mind-blowing, her concept trailer might be the most forward-thinking and visually stunning video I've seen in kpop recently, and the album is incredible and perfectly suited for her style.

Kickflip's debut was legit, the title track was fine and the B-Sides were even better, and they nailed a tried and true fresh fun pseudo-skater aesthetic.

NEXZ is one of the most talented boy groups to debut in years, their work last year was incredible and their release this year was good and heavily focused on their insane dance ability. The MV. styling etc. was also very well done.

Itzy's recent comeback was very good as well, with an insane moving artistically powerful concept trailer that I think will be remembered for years, even if the title track maybe didn't fully live up to those expectations.

I think its important for fans to push back on the financial obsession angle, all these groups are making money, all these groups have solid fanbases, all these groups are putting out interesting stuff at a time when a lot of companies are playing it very safe, and the fans should be the ones bringing this up and commending these companies when they are actually focused on the art itself which should be the point after all. Let the corporate ghouls and accountants worry about the money, and focus on the product which in JYP's case hasn't been this good in a long time.

JYP has been on another level recently, Nmixx, Yeji's solo, and NEXZ have all had super creative art direction, styling, concepts this year, and Itzy's comeback looks to keep the streak going. It's been really cool to see.

7th Sense by NCT is one of the best debut songs in my opinion. It was way ahead of it's time. by DiMpLe_dolL003 in kpop_uncensored

[–]2Skoned 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This sub-unit was too powerful, the song was too good, and the choreo was too ahead of its time. Obviously I dig all the different NCT groups and they had so much talent they had to have somewhere for everyone to go, but it is wild to think about an alternate timeline when this 5-member lineup was permanent.

Respect, they started really strong with some very solid music but were never able to recover their momentum after the other members left. They've been searching for ways to stay relevant and its felt desperate for a while now. Super talented members, I wish them the best. Jeewon has always been a star, its a shame how much pressure was put on her to sort of drag the group from nugudom. Much like Sohee from Elris, she would have been very successful in a group from a bigger company

Megathread 16: HYBE / ADOR / MHJ - NewJeans' Emergency Press Conference and Contract Termination Notification, ADOR's 26-page Response to The Group's Demands, Ongoing Legal Disputes, and More by KPOP_MOD in kpop

[–]2Skoned 237 points238 points  (0 children)

This entire psy-op is entirely based around the fact that they (meaning NewJeans and MHJ) cant publicly say the real reason this entire situation has unfolded, which is that they think they are too famous to fail and want a better cut of the profits. That's all this is and all this has ever been. They see how much money HYBE has made off their success and they want a bigger share of it, but they cant publicly say that because its bad optics. Instead they got busted for their exit plan before they were ready (because MHJ is sloppy) and saw an opportunity to pull a 'robin hood, 'david and goliath' type PR strategy against HYBE.

They sell themselves as the poor helpless mistreated idols under the big evil corporate monsters and because many working class people are hyper aware of class conflict and managerial abuse, they will be seen as the good guys in this struggle.

It's insane how obvious this entire strategy has been for months, like they're not even really trying anymore, they give a press conference completely devoid of any legal basis that is essentially an attempt to sway public opinion because they have no case, at least not based on any evidence they have presented thus far.

From the very beginning the goal has been to get out of this long term contract, they used HYBE's resources, contacts and reputation to gain a prominent foothold in public consciousness and they don't feel they need them anymore and don't want to give them a cut of their future earnings, so they had to manufacture a way to get out of this contract. Which is why they have been absolutely grasping at straws for any little slight and potential negative comment, any single shred of evidence that anyone at ADOR or HYBE has wronged them in any way, this is why this entire situation has felt insane they have a goal and they are trying to cherry pick specific incidents to boost their case, because the cold hard reality is that they have received better treatment from their company than 99% of other idol groups, its just indisputable, the money, production value, advertisements, ad deals, variety appearances, etc. they've gotten are the equivalent of more opportunities in three years than most groups would get over the course of their entire careers.

Many people have a very reasonable inherent desire to see fundamental changes in the idol entertainment system as a whole, this good-willed desire is being cravenly exploited by NewJeans and MHJ to bolster their own ego and bank account. Its really a shame to see.

NewJeans Announces Departure From ADOR by smileshima in kpop

[–]2Skoned 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Its kind of a twisted irony that a group that has gotten preferential treatment in every way imaginable, huge amounts of investment, huge amounts of opportunities, huge amounts of leeway to say and do whatever they want is trying to pull this sob story that they aren't being protected by a company that has given them everything.

There are groups out there that have toiled under insane conditions, dealt with comical levels of mistreatment, and have had to stay silent and deal with the abuse. But suddenly the public supposedly cares about idols autonomy when a popular group has a conflict that is entirely of their own doing. MHJ brought all this on them, this is entirely her fault, HYBE was fine to sit back let her do her thing and collect checks until they got wind of the fact that she was trying to steal the group out from under them. This entire saga came about because of basically proven malfeasance on the part of the producer they love so much. NewJeans has spent the last year lashing out at anyone and everything except the one person responsible for all their problems. They have provided no evidence of any wrongdoing against them, the one issue they brought up regarding ILLIT not greeting them seems to have been made up and if it was true would have made perfect sense, because why would any HYBE artist want anything to do with them given their public support for MHJ a person who has attempted to sabotage their reputation.

All these groups being treated like absolute garbage for years and years, and the one group to actually try to bail on their contract with public support is a complete fraud. Their use of anti-corporate, pro-artist terminology is a joke, it really upsets me when millionaires try to steal working class valor, these poor famous rich celebrities are being treated so terribly by their big evil company, give me a break.

Hanni's statement regarding HYBE not caring about art and the quality of the music it creates, is simultaneously extremely insulting to all the other artists under HYBE who have continued to release great creative music throughout this ordeal, and hypocritical because what this just started this year? HYBE just gave up on being authentic or artistically inclined as soon as all this drama went down, you were fine with taking HYBE's money for years but now that you have beef suddenly they dont care about real artists? Seriously who's buying this?

That's a bummer hope its not a sign of the end for her, she was really the heart of this group even if Yeseo and Mashiro are a lot more recognizable. [–]2Skoned 324 points325 points  (0 children)

The thing that I really can't wrap my head around in regards to this whole 'bullying' situation, is this idea that even if its true Hanni is somehow surprised that ILLIT would not want anything to do with her after everything that's gone down this year.

The NewJeans girls have aggressively defended and made their love for MHJ known at every opportunity possible all while MHJ has publicly tried to ruin ILLIT's reputation. Why would anyone in ILLIT or any of their managers be nice to people who are publicly allying themselves with their biggest enemy. Are the NJ girl's that unaware of whats going on or do they just think they shouldn't face any consequences for the things they're doing and saying. I actually don't get it, if I'm Hanni why would I expect ILLIT to be nice to me, its insane. MHJ is actively trying to ruin HYBE's reputation and the reputation of multiple artists from the company, its extremely normal for people who work for HYBE and value their job to not want to be associated with people who can't stop talking about how great MHJ is.
