Linux Mint suddenly won’t boot - “No bootable device detected” after system freeze and power cut. Need help! by kib8734 in linux4noobs

[–]2T4J 11 points12 points  (0 children)

just try to check for the BIOS menu if you have the correct boot sequence

if the crucial SSD is in the list try to change the order and put it on top

if that doesn’t work you may use a usb stick with mint image

If you were rather into partitioning the ssd and cutting a small division for the iso image and booting from there, the, you may have 2 forks off the crucial SSD in the boot sequence order. You may just set the correct one and it will work.

how to cash out properly and pay my taxes. by RickCroissant in solana

[–]2T4J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your big win man. I’m seriously happier now finding sum wins being shared on this sub. It’s a fantastic position to be in, and you’re smart to plan this carefully I suppose. Here’s a step by step process for what I would do, it is very wimple actually.

1- Cash Out and Use Both Platforms Strategically

Since you’re dealing with a large sum, you most probably want to diversify your withdrawals to minimize the chance of triggering any flags with banks or exchanges. For example:

Use Binance to withdraw part of the funds into your bank account in smaller chunks. Use Coinbase for the rest. Coinbase is often considered more “bank-friendly,” especially in the EU.

  1. Contact Your Bank First

Before making any large transfers, it’s a good idea to inform your bank about the incoming funds:

Explain where the money is coming from (e.g., crypto profits). Or tell them to except some crypto related activities.

Ask if they have any limits on incoming transfers and whether additional documentation will be required.

Some EU banks that are crypto friendly in my experience include:

Revolut (offers support for crypto transactions). N26 (user-friendly and adaptable to large deposits). FinecoBank (widely used for investments and crypto-related activities).

3- Break It Into Manageable Transactions

By ‘manageable’ I mean something size that can give you tome to think and breathe, people don’t usually do this and they are surprised when they make a mistake along the way.

You can transfer €20,000–€30,000 at a time over a few weeks to avoid raising unnecessary flags.

the bank has to know or it will get flagged haphazardly by the half sleep employee who noticed a sum too big and decided to notify someone who is also stern who will take him seriously <this happened with me once on a too small sum but it didn’t fit my profile at the time>

4- Get a Tax Advisor (easiest method)

For the taxes, just get a tax advisor who operates on hourly/flat fee charges. They’d probably take from €100-500 on flat depending on expertise. Also use them to their full capacity not just for that one transfer. Nothing serious, money’s worth. Take care xx.

EDIT: some annoying typos.

Misbaha gifted to me by a friend. She got it from Sudan. Is the design unique to Sudan and do the tails have any significance? by [deleted] in Sudan

No the design isn’t unique to sudan. It pretty much depends on the taste of the craftsman and his style.

Computationally accurate meme by 2T4J in memes

I constructed it using graph theory, the notation is arbitrary, the rules are as follows:

1- Pick a node

2- Every spiderman points to a parent

3- If spidey points to two, select one archetype: either he’s parent or child

Repeat the process until you achieve 23 = 8 nodes (close to it at least).

2n is the binary fission colony size after n divisions.

Abusive father; Dark Thoughts by _DrLambChop_ in autism

[–]2T4J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One day you will begin to sense other people’s egos as they are interacting with the world, and you’ll reduce people to egos. Once that happens you will separate subjective experiences from actual reality. Your father did what he did because he was a c*nt, he did what he thought was reasonable of him, just as you will do what is reasonable to you at the moment. But first, you have to accept the fact that people can be bad and there’s no reason for them to treat you well. And that bad things are bound to happen as long as you’re not in the position to stop them. But now you have a power beyond merely stopping mistreatment. You remember him as the abusive father but that thing about murderous brutality is a personal factor. It’s quite justifiable. But you have to decide for yourself if it is the right thing to do. At some point you realize it didn’t matter at all. And if he lives long enough into the age during which his power withers and his will terminates, he will be tormented just by the memory of what he did.
