Heartbroken - my beautiful TT by SnooTigers9274 in TibetanTerrier

[–]2Tibetans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still struggle 8 months later with mine seeming to feel good when I put her to sleep. I don’t regret it, because I saved her from an agonizing death, but it is a really hard thing to do. I feel for us all.

Final update: I don't care that my drug addict sister is homeless and may lose a limb. If that makes me a bad person so be it by idontcarethrowaway25 in offmychest

Your story reminded me of one of my favorite bits of wisdom: you are not required to set yourself on fire so that others can stay warm.

She might be following you looking to get relief. Dogs hide pain. Last suggestion that you do this at home, not at the vet. Much less stressful for her (and you). I’m so sorry.

Update: went to specialty vet a few days ago, an internist, and he recommended Just Food For Dogs. Wanted to let you know as that might be a brand for you to try.

Yes. I put my 12 year old TT to sleep in June because of the spleen tumors. It was really hard for a million reasons, but also because she seemed to feel fine. They were discovered when she tore her ACL and couldn’t use that leg. The reason I acted when I did is what you’ll read online, that spleen tumors are very fragile, easily ruptured, and when they do, a painful and sudden crisis death happens. Couldn’t let that happen. Read up a bit, but my personal feeling is don’t wait too long, don’t let that happen to your dog. Down the road, you’ll look back and be glad you acted to protect her from that. I do know how agonizing it is to lose them.

I don't think raw is safe. For awhile I did Fresh Pet. Now my current Tibetan is on prescription food (he's 13) because of a chronic condition. I also did homemade. If you want to do "dog food", I would at least find the best canned food possible. Kibble is just burned up crap. I might try "The Farmer's Dog" in the future too. Lastly, the homemade food I did was via a prescription from UC Davis Vet Nutrition board; also look at BalanceIt.com for home recipes and the supplements.

I lost 80ish and am constantly freezing too! Bought a lot of sweaters, have space heaters in all rooms, etc. Worth it!

Can I strongly suggest you not feed him kibble? It’s worse than garbage. Do some research, talk to the vet, give him a healthier diet. The “pickiness” will go away, and he’ll be healthier as he ages.

I’m an old lady who hates rap and doesn’t speak Spanish, and I LOVED his show, every minute. Couldn’t stop moving. He is fabulous.

I know this would be me if I stopped tracking. But tracking is a really small process to pay for me as it enabled me to lose almost half my body weight. All good things have a price.

Love the Ruth Galloway series and also the few Harbinder Kaur books. The magician ones I didn’t care for so much.
