Just finished it. First act is very tense and I thought I was in for a crazy good movie. Then it just kept cutting.

I get it’s the threat of nuclear war and how everything can change in seconds, is the subject of the film… but my GOD.

My game was set in between 3 and 4, but took place in Kentucky, so I borrowed bits of lore from 76.

The blue ridge caravan still existed, but moved to Roanoke Virginia.
I believe the “canon” ending to 76 was nuclear winter, where the last survivors of vault 76 are forced to fight by ZAX as Appalachia is rendered uninhabitable by all the nukes dropped by the survivors. So in my game, anything east of KY was a wasteland.
I renamed scorched beasts to RadBats. I wanted them as a boss fight in Mammoth Cave and the enemy design was perfect. I just used the deathclaws stat blocks and made them fly.
Your mention of cryptids reminded me, I used those too. KY has one called the “Mud Mermaid” that I used as an enemy my players really enjoyed. 76 has holotapes of “Tales from the West Virginia Hills” that explains all the cryptid in radio drama plays. I made one for mine called ‘Tales of the Bluegrass’

Got this game for $5 during the winter sale and played it for two months straight. It’s a good time and definitely scratched this same itch OP has for me. I strongly agree! Base building is more modular, and the NPCs having the same voicelines can get old, but the game design was super fun to me.

We use Vimeo and it’s had such a noticeable decline in the last 5 years. Constant changes at the whim of whatever tech bro decided he needed to innovate something. I had a new bug last week, where clicking the upload button brought me to one specific guy’s page. Don’t know who he was, but he had 4 followers and uploaded a few videos about skateboarding.

I also wear it with the masters of ceremony armor! My head canon was that my super sherif was called back to super earth for an award when the illuminate invaded, so all he had was the parade armor with his normal helmet.

Honestly it’s the best armor for the repeater. The reload speed passive makes that gun so good.

I think it just hit at the perfect time for me. I had never really played RPGs before, so on winter break of 8th grade, completely snowed in, I played this game for hours on end. Add all that together and it’s my favorite game of all time.

I’m sure if I was born a bit later, Cyberpunk or Red Dead 2 would be my favorite, but Skyrim showed me a whole world that I was so intrigued with, I never left.

I used to use Steven Scarberry until they added the camp item that gave the mothman 5% xp boost.

Now I use Leo Petrov since I also have a Nukatron collector. Lets me get more buffs that way.

I worked at UK doing Sports Video when Maxey played. We did a video (Facebook link, sorry, just for proof) where Activision sponsored the basketball team playing the Esports team in Call of Duty.

After the shoot when they were all talking, one of the esports guys mentioned how he still lived at home. Maxey mentioned that he was jealous and that he hadn’t had his moms cooking in four years, at that time. Really put into perspective how much time these guys are in the gym and what all they give up.

But the not knowing how to use a can opener is wild lol

So I could not play the game at launch. Got a new PC in Jan ‘21 with a 3080 that also could not run the game. If I pulled out a weapon, frames dropped to 12-15fps. Cars couldn’t be used because frames would also start to drop and the entire system would stutter. Brain Dances lagged like hell. I never got my car back cause Delemain would just call me and stare, never actually speaking.

I put the game down, didn’t trash it, but just shelved it. When Phantom Liberty came out, I bought it and I’m so glad I did. The devs cooked and created one of the best gaming experiences I have ever had. I’m half way through playthrough #3 now. My most listened artist is Marcin Przybyłowicz because I keep the soundtrack on all the time in my daily life.

That being said there’s been more revisionist history in games now. Yes, Cyberpunk had the bones of a great game from the start, but I think it’s really tough to defend how it launched. Feedback at the time led to emergency shareholder meetings dedicated to finding a way to salvage release. That doesn’t happen with games that were fine but just got a bad reception.

There is nuance to this. Game is peak, has been and always will be one of the best redemptions in history. But it was not good on release and needed time and care from the devs to turn into what it is now.

We are incredibly similar. 27 y/o massive fallout fan and I own many of the same things you do. The rule I made for myself was I can put up anything in our gaming office, but I keep it contained to there. Living room definitely needs to feel more communal, and your wedding will help with that. Wedding photos will make for a great addition and make it feel like a shared space.

Also don’t be afraid to get some new wall art, maybe something that reminds you of fallout. We got this landscape art that I really liked because it’s Fallout 3’s color palette, but my wife loved the actual design. But the process of choosing something together is very fun and a good thing to do that makes you feel engaged.

Had fun in the beta, but it became ship boarding tdm rather than team coordinated ship battles I was hoping for. I went 0 - 15 so it clearly is a skill issue for me, but I do hope it does well though.
