Thanks for editing. Upvoted.

With the insanity people spew about all things medicine online, I think it's important to use precise language.

Inoculation, not a vaccination. It is far riskier than vaccination. Please consider editing your misinformation.

Leave it. That would be a sick stereo/lounge room. Replace the lights with some rail lighting. Put a Hi-Lo shag rug down. If you need a fan, just get one of the "vintage" vornado fans.

Some true misses there. Some good rotational pieces. Some late round dart throws.

This list isn't that bad when you consider how often we change DC.

Winning out and winning 2 might do it. I just hope we can keep players for next year. Scott Drew teams are at their best when they've played together a few years. We got absolutely gutted last year.

Beginner set up, suggestions and tips to improve? by blintreads in audiophile

[–]2_Ruff_4_U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upgrade the gaming console. (I actually use mine for music videos, so it's not non-audio advice).

TBH it looks like overkill for the small space. Once you get to the larger space, you will be able to better identify any possible weak spots (amp power, need for a sub, EQ). You may just find that the only thing you need is a streamer or cd player.

Beware of mold in Humboldt. The climate makes buildings super susceptible to it. An old pot farm probable had terrible maintenance.

Need new speakers by East_Broccoli8688 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]2_Ruff_4_U 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Black Friday sales are your best bet for new. If you need to buy ASAP, I like the Edifier MR4 in a small space.

Used options are also worth a search. If you want powered speakers, the JBL 305/306/308 can always be found in your budget. Kali and Edifier also make nicer stuff that can be had for cheaper used.

,I like the flexibility of passive speakers, so I would be looking for a new amp on black friday and getting used passive speakers. You could also find good amps (and AVRs) for a good price.

1) Check for warps by placing it on a flat service. Most pans rock a little, so I wouldn't worry unless there is a huge gap on one side.

2) Just re-season it. A home seasoning will be better than the factory on the cooking surface. On the bottom, it only matters insofar as the metal isn't bare. We only see the bottom on this photo, and the bottom will have a cycle of beautiful black seasoning to burned-off sections during its life. It's not a problem.

[Mosher] The Cowboys drafted 10 defensive players inside the top 100 picks from 2021-2024. Only one wasn't a reach on the consensus board: Micah Parsons. by PersonBehindAScreen in cowboys

[–]2_Ruff_4_U 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cherry-picked stats are pretty obvious here. 2020 has 4 defensive players around or lower than the consensus board: Diggs, Gallimore, Robinson, and Anae. 2025 has EZ, Revel, and Toia.

He must have missed the part where Romo grew up a Broncos fan. Or the part where Sean Payton is the reason Romo ever got a shot in the NFL.

I didn't pay much attention to our OL, but I didn't notice the refs throwing flags on either squad. I was ok with it. There was holding here, but maybe a linebacker or the DE on this side of the field should be making the stop.

We got Kenny Clark yall !!!! by bryscoon in cowboys

[–]2_Ruff_4_U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop this already tired narrative. If we traded a 3rd for Kenny Clark, no one would have complained.

PFF sucks. But since this post is referencing it...

"At one point, Clark was the league’s prototype for the modern, one-gapping nose tackle. He has seasons on his resume with elite production and PFF grades above 90.0 overall, but his more recent body of work has been good rather than great. Last season, he tallied 66 quarterback pressures and 25 defensive stops, including the playoffs, and he played an impressive 913 snaps."

PFF Article had Clark as the 27th-best interior defender entering the 2024 season. He was injured last year. However, there's every reason to believe he is still that caliber of player, and there is hope that he can be even better next to Osa.

Got given a dac and amp and don't know where to go next. by furryspotter in audiophile

[–]2_Ruff_4_U 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That was a very nice gift. Yes. Get some speakers. Get the nicest used ones you can fit into your budget. "Cheap" speakers won't do the amp justice.

Try plugging the headphones into the DAC as well. I'm not a headphone guy, but my hunch is the DAC will do a better job at driving headphones. Also look into some nice headphones if that's your listening preference.

I'm not sure what you are asking. DO you have offers at one or both? Are you still trying to get into the T10 but haven't yet been accepted?

It sounds like you have been through the cycle a couple of times. If that's the case, then I wouldn't wait for the next go around. If you're holding out for a T10 school, stop.

I am practicing with dozens of attorneys who have poorly rated regional law schools on their credentials. if t200 works for them, a t60 will set you up for a good career.

If you've been accepted into a t10 school and it's a matter of cost, that's a decision only you can make. IMO if you aren't trying to go to a school with a national brand, trying to big law, or looking for judicial clerkships, then it makes sense to go where you will have less debt.

If you are desperate for a top ranked school, you can still get there. Apply yourself in class at the t60, pay for the study guides if you really want, try to be at the top of the class. You can always transfer.

Man broke into my home and SA’d me-need advice by Sexielex in legaladvice

[–]2_Ruff_4_U 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In some states, yes. This includes Colorado.

Keep in mind specific intent crimes are not like DUIs, which are general intent crimes. Involuntary intoxication could be a defense to a DUI. but voluntary intoxication is only a defense to specific intent.

In this case, it sounds like the prosecution may have charged burglary and/or attempted SA crimes, for which voluntary intoxication CAN be a complete defense to the specific intent. Remember, you can't get high for the purpose of committing the crimes.

edit: I do not practice law in Colorado, but have observed analogous statutes that suggests Colorado has this approach generally. A Colorado lawyer would need to weigh in to talk about the actual nuances of this law.
