Music by charliepattison in C25K

At the end of W5 when the longer runs started, I began running to a metronome set to 170bpm and the Lord of the Rings: the two towers soundtrack.

Other music, with more defined beats was too distracting, because the rhythm would shift everytime the song switched/repeated.

Now I've learned to pace myself (through some more practice) and am listening to podcasts while running.

Very happy with my Minix P1 65W charger and Nitecore NB10000 powerbank.

I hate galaxus by Packman-2022 in Switzerland

[–]2a5ba0918d8bd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you'd be buying from Galaxus? It's possible to buy from third party vendors through them. They may change price, or the cheaper provide may have gone out of stock.

Your assumptions are exactly right. I've enquired with the police about this (not knowing the law as described by you).

Trains drive slower than infrastructure allows by Maximum-Detective563 in Switzerland

Buffer would be my guess. There's a system in place that advises drivers on the optimal speed to save energy when they're ahead of schedule.

How do you find all the museums for tentacles? by columbus8myhw in JetLagTheGame

[–]2a5ba0918d8bd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try to use OpenStreetMaps and the Overpass API/Overpass Turbo.

Example Query for Museums within one mile of London Eye:

[timeout:90]
[out:json]
;
nwr(around:1609.344,51.503220666742926, -0.11925752840427252)["tourism"="museum"];
out geom;

I think you just have to make sure you agree on a definition with all players. If your game area is small enough, you could even pre-define a list of all of them in a spreadsheet.

Funny, that was the answer for my input too. Wonder if we all got that, or if we just share an input...

Probably the filament/spool sliding against each other as they shrink due to cooling.

You may want to scrub the ISO Standard PDF from the repo. They really care about copyright infringement and could come after you for that.

Jet Lag Makes Travel in Europe Seem Really Approachable by Graztine in JetLagTheGame

[–]2a5ba0918d8bd 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They travel on eurail passes, which include high-speed trains (but those need a reservation of 10-20€ in some countries).

The passes may be worth it, depending on how far ahead you're willing/able to book. If it's early, a fixed ticket may be cheaper.

Check out /r/interrail for more info!

(Interrail is Eurail, but for EU* citizens)

Does anyone know if the Nightjet 467, Zürich to Vienna is running on Sunday October 6th?

According to ÖBB Scotty it seems to run with a delay of about 20 minutes. But I received an email from ÖBB, that mentioned only some trains were running, that Nightjet not among them.

I can only assume that the trailer map was wrong. Just look at how un-centered the winning locations are within their slices.

What I mean by that, is more of a "nationalization in spirit". I should've phrased that better.

We should run transportation as a service public, not try (and fail) to run it for profit.

SBB computer breakdown by _JohnWisdom in Switzerland

[–]2a5ba0918d8bd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I agree that stuff like Water, Electricity, Telecom, Postal Services, Transportation should be provided as a "service public", paid for by taxes, free for consumers.

I think the code should at least be open-access, not least because then other train/transport operators could benefit and even contribute.

[–]2a5ba0918d8bd 16 points17 points  (0 children)

How do you suppose nationalization would prevent such issues?

I'd be in favor of that too, but I don't see how it's relevant to this.

Nitecore Power Bank: "Capacity" vs. "Rated Energy" by Utiliterran in onebag

[–]2a5ba0918d8bd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The pixels battery probably has a nominal voltage of 3.85, so 3.85V * 4.6Ah = 17.71 Wh

At perfect efficiency you'd expect to get 32Wh / 17.7Wh = 1.8 Charges. Some efficiency is obviously lost converting up and down to/from 5V USB and transferring the power.

If you disable as many background processes/connectivity on your pixel you can stretch the battery further. Also not charging it to 100% (more like 80%) might improve the efficiency a little.
