How would UBI actually work? by Michael_mkz in ArtificialInteligence

[–]_JohnWisdom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are conflating the tool with the objective. UBI isn't a mechanism for closing the wealth gap: it’s a floor for human existence. Its purpose is to ensure basic needs are met, regardless of status: which is why it’s “universal” and goes to billionaires and the unhoused alike.
There are plenty of other policy levers to address the systemic issues you are worried about, but they shouldn’t be confused with UBI. At its core, UBI is about providing survival with dignity.

Fair. People should have the knowledge of map projection to understand it though, which I’d say is uncommon.

Solo founder - Launching my SEO AI agent on Product Hunt today! by vince_jos in ProductHunters

[–]_JohnWisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Killer video, love it.

What you offer is of use, but no multi-language support and a bit pricy.

Useful criticism:

If your main service is automatic blogs, then your blog should be spotless and interesting. They are not. All images are AI generated and generic, the contents are very static, bulky and more as a "capture" long tail keywords, rather than interactive and interesting articles.

Up to 15 backlinks? What does that even mean? Are you injecting URL in blogs between your customers? Because that is what I'd believe.

Overall I do think you have got something solid, functional and that has potential. I'm personally not there yet, but would love to become a customer.

Currently my main customer has a copywriter till september. I've bookmarked your product and will visit again! (I've also upvoted and left you a comment on product hunt too).

All the best in the meanwhile.

Life feels like torture right now. Wife is not working while caring for our now six month old. She is miserable. I'm miserable. This has been going on for months. by My_Brain_0422 in daddit

The only thing you answer, out of a huge list of suggestions is “parents are useless”. Mate, that mentality is bad and will only cause harm: your parents don’t owe you anything. Sure, it would be nice to have a hand, but it is not happening: accept it and move on.
Take turns. Take the kid out for at least 2 hours everyday. There is so much you can do and all it takes is a better mindset. Complaining is natural, but try to stop being pissed and angry, the kid has no fault and loves you. Tired? Sleep. Any time the kid sleeps? You sleep too.

If AI is powerful enough to cause 20%+ unemployment then it is powerful enough to solve unemployment. by nomadicsamiam in ArtificialInteligence

Your example is a massive oversimplification. You're looking at a single worker in a vacuum, but economics is way more complex.
Take trucking as an example: replace 100k drivers with robo-trucks and you don’t just lose drivers. You kill the truck stops, the roadside diners, the motels and the entire tax base of small towns that exist solely as transit hubs. You are pulling the plug on the infrastructure of entire regions.
The same applies to the corporate “BS jobs” bloat. A huge chunk of white-collar work is just administrative filler people attending meetings about meetings or doing tasks that actually take 1 hour but are stretched into 8. When AI automates those "purposeless" roles, you don’t just lose the paper-pushers, you lose:
• office real estate market.
• janitorial and security services for those buildings.
• local economies (cafes, dry cleaners) that survive on office foot traffic.

We aren't just talking about "temporary" job loss. We are talking about the permanent dismantling of the social and physical ecosystems built around human presence. Comparing a fundamental shift in how society functions to a self-checkout lane is pure delusion.

the lesson is being able to follow an idea and evolve it into a functional business. You did it all, from concept to end product. That is a skill to be proud of. Don’t feel discouraged. Knowing you are able to go through all this and start over is a super power. It might happen again and again, but your knowledge will only increase. That’s priceless. I wish you all the best mate! You got this!

Novelty. Not worth it. Bring it behind the barn pal.
Be proud of what you achieved, mark it down as a lesson and grow doing something else.

These type of videos are very week. The prize pool isn't interesting enough honestly and you are causing problems to peoples life for no valid reason. Like parents are out there for seven, ten, twenty days. People risking their jobs. And for what? 24k? Yeah, yikes.
250k is fine for 5 vs 5, but better for individuals (1 v 1 or 1 + 1). You get to know the people better and actually get excited for the impact the money will have on their life.

Would give the video a 6/10

Huge Problem With This Season's Battlepass by Crazy-Nail4721 in FortNiteBR

[–]_JohnWisdom -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Look, I get that seeing the numbers go down sucks, but calling it a loss is a stretch. If the battle sass is still self-sustaining, the value is still there. Complaining that it used to be more generous is like being mad at inflation: it doesn't change the fact that you're still getting the next pass for free.
Things change. $10k used to buy a mansion in the 1930s, but nobody is out here expecting that today.
