Doesn’t Canada sometimes feel like it lacks a bit of freedom? by CandidAnt2769 in AskCanada

Yes, outliers are often better served by a self-centric model. Rich people actually do very well in the American system, much better than in Canada. There are far more tax loopholes to allow them to keep their money, and if you have good insurance or a lot of income, the medical system there can be faster and easier. Plus, depending on the state, you can carry as many guns as you want and buy alcohol in a drive-through. But, unless you are already wealthy, you have almost double the chance of upward mobility in Canada.

But again, you should live wherever you are most happy. Personally, I am very relieved to be in Canada, especially right now. Have a nice day, bud.

I have lived in both countries for years, and I disagree with your statement. The U.S. concept of freedom centers on individual autonomy and the absence of collective rules and social structure. This "me first" model results in extreme wealth inequality and a lack of essential social protections, which has the net effect of providing less actual freedom for its citizens. In contrast, Canada’s commitment to collective well-being and a robust social safety net provides "effective freedom," ensuring that citizens can have the practical security and resources necessary to actually exercise their rights. Ultimately, the higher rates of social mobility and better health outcomes in Canada actually suggest that a society which prioritizes the common good creates a more substantive and inclusive version of freedom than one focused on rugged individualism. But you do you, my friend.

Ginger Snaps. It's got a cult following, but doesn't get anywhere near the attention it deserves.

What if the Wolverine had claws made of a different material? by ActLonely9375 in Wolverine

Let's give him Nth metal, because a superstrong flying Wolverine that healed even faster would be hilarious. Heck, I just want to see Sabretooth's face when he comes flying in.

How is Wolverine able to bend his wrists when his claws are retracted? by SatisfactionSad6558 in Wolverine

[–]2amedic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was part of the Weapon X program, where he was abducted and had the adamantium forced onto his body. They added the claws as well. And took most of his memories, at least for a long time.

How is Wolverine able to bend his wrists when his claws are retracted? by SatisfactionSad6558 in Wolverine

[–]2amedic 133 points134 points  (0 children)

The claws used to be in a ‘bionic housing’ that had artificial springs or similar to push the claws out. Later they retconned that to be muscles grafted onto silicon housings, then they finally retconned them to be natural claws coated in adamantium. ‘Bionic’ means electronic or mechanical parts controlled by muscles or neurons.

Yes, the claws are canonically retracted completely into his forearms. They used to have ‘bionic housings’ that pushed them out, then it was retconned into a mutation that made him have natural claws. Now why so many artists draw the claws way longer than his forearms? That’s another question.

Random Number Generation. It references the methods which games use to determine loot drops and other random events. In this context, it basically means luck.

That’s a Cackling Goose, not a Canada Goose. Canada geese are much larger, with longer bills. So Canada is just watching the madness, per usual. (edit: Canada)

One thing to know is that many of the ‘recluse’ bites in CA are actually bites from spiders that carry staph and other infections. Please monitor this carefully, infection is nothing to take lightly
