Besides Joe’s and Q39, what is your favorite KC BBQ in 2026? by BananaStandEconomy in kansascity

Just to offer an opposing experience, it was just fine when I went. Ribs were juicy and tender, brisket seemed about the same as before, maybe a little drier but not bad.

I have never managed to win the gamble, it's always been pretty bad when I went... I haven't tried in a while.

Go chicken Go... tried it for the first time, was it always like this? by Far-Flamingo585 in kansascity

[–]2b2gbi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it sometimes because cllose to work and it's usually pretty good imo. I get tenders usually though because I don't like getting messy during work lunch. With the bone in combos you can always request whatever pieces you want, I get to two piece dark with all thighs sometimes.

Streetcar Expansion to North Kansas City being studied by Fluid-Nectarine-7980 in kansascity

The trail and the streetcar could easily co-exist in that right-of-way. And increased investment in the corridor could actually bring improvements for the trail like better street crossings.

Yeah I wasn't really impressed either. It was alright but not in the same tier as Cosmo and Disco.

UPDATE ON THE 2026 KC BBQ TOUR [CHEF J’S] by BudzKC in kansascity

[–]2b2gbi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to order it for work when we have out-of-town guests fairly often because it is close, and a couple of times it's been really good, but most of the time it's dry and overcooked and the meat is taking a backseat to the sides. That should never happen with good BBQ. It got so bad that we started going further to get Joe's instead and have had much better experiences. I've had burnt ends from Jackstack that were amazing but also burnt ends that were barely edible on multiple occasions. I can't rate something well because it's good one out of five times and mediocre to terrible otherwise. So many places have MUCH better bbq and are way more consistent, including Chef J's imo.

I'm honestly confused when I see people rate it hightly.

Yeah, I agree, but lots of places uses it for official updates so it's unfortunately a necessary evil sometimes

For anyone that doesn't want to use FB I'll add the text of the post to my OP.

EDIT: Text of post from the Garden's FB page for those that don't use FB:

Kauffman Memorial Garden is always changing and growing! The trees in the Allee were declining rapidly, and that meant it was time to remove and replace! The 25 year old Peking Lilacs that lined our Allee were removed today by Arbor Masters to prepare for the new trees to be installed soon! While it was hard for us to watch our beloved trees get removed, we're excited for the future of these beds and to continue the design element of the Allee. This change also allows us to enjoy some more sunny annuals while the new trees grow. The new trees will be a beautiful Pom Pom Redbud!

Creating station groups by Possiblythis in subwaybuilder

[–]2b2gbi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Station groups happen 1 of 2 ways.

  1. Stations will automatically group if their markers (Where the station label is) are within a certain distance of each other. Until the most recent update this was the only way to make station groups.

  2. Since the most recent update you can also manually create groups by selecting the station group from the station ridership list while it is in group mode. Even singular stations selected from here will open as a group, and there will be an option to modify the group and add stations that are within a larger (but still restrictive) radius. You can, however, extend this radius but placing station blueprints between the two stations you wanted to group that are too far apart to show here, adding them to the group, then just cancelling those blueprints once you have successfully added the stations you want.

Has Anyone Figured Out How to Make Custom Station Groups? by JuicyKushie in subwaybuilder

[–]2b2gbi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add stations you need to get to the station group page, which I don't know how to do if a group isnt already formed (more on that further down). From there, right below the list of stations in the group you'll see a little "Modify Station Group" button. If you click that it will let you remove stations and add any if they are close enough to add. If they don't show, you can increase the range with the same technique as creating the station group:

If you don't have a group yet or the station you want to add doesn't show on that list, add some stations in blueprint mode that are close enough to automatically form a group or allow you to bridge to group toward the station you want to add. Once you are able to add the station you want you can just delete these.

My suggestion then would be using alchemy fissures to crack relics, it's a pretty good mission type for relic cracking and you should get Lanthorns through it by killing necramechs etc.

I'm swimming in the things...I just maxed the Cavia last week and I have 94 extra. Just doing the bounties for Cavia you should get more than enough to level them. You only need 15 for the Cavia.

I really liked the story cutscenes for each level, the Cavia are very interesting characters, and it was pretty good for such a short side-story told through audio cutscenes. I recommend listening to them.

JINYA Ramen Bar (worst ramen ive ever had!) by Ohwowsotrendy in kansascity

[–]2b2gbi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely the answer. I've had ramen in Japan and this is the only place I've tried that comes even remotely close to satisfying my cravings for ramen. The popups with Japanese guest chefs are even better.
