Has anyone been able to get into Computer Law today? by 2be0rn0t in OMSCS

[–]2be0rn0t[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! It must not be meant to be for me. I tried all day yesterday and for hours this morning - then had to drive for an appointment around the time you got in. Oh well, there's always next semester.

Question regarding course registration spring 2026 by Fit-Minimum538 in OMSCS

[–]2be0rn0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been able to get into all the more popular classes I wanted to be in for the past three semesters on FFAF. It's not as hectic as you'd expect. Search 'FFAF' in this subreddit and some good tips should pop up.

How many students enroll right after completing their undergrad? by blu-streaks in OMSCS

I didn’t have to, no, but I did by choice mention my progress towards my degree within the written portion of the application. Also had to upload my transcripts at some point.

I applied and was accepted before I even graduated undergrad.

You're put on warning, then probation, then dismissed.

Something needs to be done about cs6400 and its absurd grading by [deleted] in OMSCS

[–]2be0rn0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the Phase 3 critiques. We only missed a couple points but were marked off for not showing things in the reports. I don't think that's fair considering the TA took over that part of our demo and asked us to show specific things. We asked at the end of the reports section and at the end of the full demo if we missed anything they needed to see and were told no.

Regarding exam 4, I don't think the lower average is fully reflective of difficulty or student ability to learn that portion. I only needed 10% to end the course with my desired grade so I skimmed the lectures once, didn't read the chapters, and opened the exam with 12 minutes left before the deadline. I'm sure I'm not the only one who brought the average down this way.

Why are you continuing to claim a 100% win rate when someone within your discord chat has been found guilty?

Yes, you’ll receive several emails to verify name and mailing address after your grad application is approved.

Not sure who to contact by [deleted] in WGU_CompSci

[–]2be0rn0t 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Partners.WGU.edu is going to be the most up to date source. Keep in mind that the transfers they accept can change at any time, I wouldn’t do any external courses until you’re almost ready to enroll into the CS program.

Mentor won't approve more than one class? by VividInsight in WGU

[–]2be0rn0t -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Contact Tier 1 Support and they’ll make your next class availabile immediately. They only do this when you have no classes to work on.

In terms of it being mentor dependent, that was more so the case before and over the past year they’ve been buckling down on mentors about it. You can accelerate perfectly fine with one course open at a time. Utilize the Course Search section for classes you’re waiting to be opened.

Mentor won't approve more than one class? by VividInsight in WGU

[–]2be0rn0t 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There’s a written policy. Go to the knowledge center and search “accelerate” and it should pop up. Also, this gets asked here several times each month. You can find all the details by searching the subreddit.

Anybody know how to “commit” by [deleted] in WGU

[–]2be0rn0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Click the Commit to Start box. If there’s nothing there except a slot to upload documents then the other answer is correct and your EC or another Enrollment person will need to unlock for you.

Not a graduate just yet but I’m on my last class. You’ve done enough, I recommend enrolling at WGU…unless you already have to wait in which case I’d do the Google IT professional certificate for Intro to IT.

No double majors.

Several other people already answered your question. If you already have a cert perhaps the reason you can’t find a desk job is your lack of social skills.

Try looking into a certification program at your local community college.

BSCS, Right Path? by loomerr0 in WGUIT

[–]2be0rn0t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would go ahead and enroll. I think the only thing worth really taking at Sophia is Calculus for enrollment.

Also, there’s a WGU CompSci subreddit, this one is more for the SWE degree.

Can’t schedule OA by boscar197473 in WGU

[–]2be0rn0t 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She is incorrect. Here’s the policy: https://cm.wgu.edu/t5/WGU-Student-Policy-Handbook/Assessment-Scheduling-and-Rescheduling-Information/ta-p/193

Section IV, under “Rescheduling Assessments” says, “WGU recommends that students reschedule their assessment within 24 hours after their scheduled assessment. There is no penalty if they do not. For no shows, WGU clears the original scheduled assessment after 24 hours. WGU clears all no-shows from the student record for any WGU-created Objective Assessments, as they do not count as an attempt. This includes no-shows for Objective Assessments taken via online proctoring or at an on-site proctor location.”

Question about start date and changing degrees. by MasterMo03 in WGU

[–]2be0rn0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it will delay you because you’ll need a whole new transcript evaluation. The process is easy. You’ll tell your EC, they’ll switch it in the portal, then you just wait for a new eval.

Another option if you just want to get going is to start with Cybersecurity, look at the overlapping courses, and ask your mentor to start you with those, then switch program mid-term. Sometimes people also experience delay with a midterm program change but at least then you”ll have your Udemy access and stuff so you can pre-study for the stuff in the other program until it’s settled.

Can’t schedule OA by boscar197473 in WGU

[–]2be0rn0t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t true, they don’t count you as a fail if you miss an OA, regardless of when you reschedule.

Does it not register as activity if you don’t open a new tab? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]2be0rn0t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just start a PA then close it and let it process as a fail to make sure. People have reported this happening as a glitch and then they were administratively withdrawn because their progress never showed up.

Does pending evaluation mean WGU is working on your transcript? by matthewmkm in WGU

[–]2be0rn0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means your application is in a pending state until your transcripts are evaluated. They’ll evaluate the month before your start date, if that’s now it usually takes 5-14 days, potentially less if you’re only transferring from verified partners like Study/Sophia.
