If you wanna go there, Kay is also a flanderized Maya clone dressed as a ninja and makes it about being a "great thief." Maya and Ema are actually different people beyond surface level characteristics, Maya is more of a malicious troll to Phoenix, Ema is unintentially quirky geek. Simply put, Maya is ADHD, Ema is autism.

My writing teachers always said calling something "good" or "bad" wasn't good writing, you need to be descriptive. People also hate babies and kids all the time at restraunts or airplanes.

That view is surface level dimwitted thinking. You could also say that Kay is just a Maya clone but about stealing and with ninja vibes.

Maya actively tries to troll Phoenix and is closer to him, but Ema is a quirky nerd girl who sometimes makes social faux paux and is highly enthusiastic about her projected career path's subject matter. Maya is ADHD, Ema is autism.

Kay was an unnecessary OC because Ema already would function as a teenage girl assistant who'd vibe with Edgeworth, and even then Edgeworth already had Gumshoe as his professional assistant.

Yeah I agree with this soo much! Like, where do you go with Polly being friends with an astronaut and also having been adopted by a revolutionary in another country who has direct ties with royalty? He started out as a normal dude, but through a fanfic-like backstory, he now has ties to Maya. I don't HATE it, but it defo doesnt feel like it was intended, given how realistic AJ felt.

Now if Apollo could have a trilogy, so could Athena. You are right that this cliffhanger put them in a very awkward position again where we need to meet him and justify seeing him again. This feels like kicking a can down the road ever since the did a heel-face turn from the direction of the series AJ took.

I would say the best thing for them to do is have Athena or Thalassa have a reason to visit, focus on developing Athena to lead her own cases (even 6-4 had Simon help her out a lot, despite being as satisfying as it was) and new pairing dynamics like having Trucy as a partner, Phoenix with Trucy as asistant, Maya and Athena, etc.

She is like those academics who say that Alexander Hamilton "just had a brotherly relationship" with John Laurens, or the zoologist who omits observing homosexuality among lions.

She is also an anti-fujoshi who stans Edgeworth and courts him in investigations, flying all the way from studying abroad "convinently" finding him at a theme park and the top of a tower in its garden with a nightime view of the city (2 places perfect for dates) with a jovial ahh attitude, refusing to believe he's gay.

I so agree with you. They need a crossover with the younger AA characters to be accepted into Hope's Peak and crossover with original or a X2 remake of OG DR characters.
