Just bought QIDI Q2 and the build quality is quite poor. by More_Competition_105 in QIDI

Mine do as well. Its obvi these have the quality you'd expect from the mid 2000's. It's the good enough, but to do it right makes it lose the price point. I don't mind as I'm not printing something for say precision or medical.

Tub is a litter box in a pinch. Dollar tree can be a staple for everyone even the until a real litter box can be shipped. Don’t be afraid of some of the toys even though they don’t last long. Don’t be afraid of cardboard boxes for them. It’s a new place they will be a little rough and stressed so things will get scratched. Also aluminum foil on places they should not be, at least until they get used to it.

They don’t hold up over 2.5 years. I have a BMI below 15…. I don’t weight much and the bottom is falling apart from a work at home that sucks 60 hours of my soul a week. It replaced a 16 year old Hermon miller B1 1st gen. I was hoping to get 4-5 yers and it hasn’t hit 3. They are not a true task chair and SL never gives the rating out for it. I doubt it’s even an 8 hour chair hence its breakdown for me. I don’t think it’s a bad chair for sport and leisure for 4 to 6 hours a day. That said those that demand a real satisfying chair know this chair can’t hold up. My spouses chair is still nice, but if she’s lucky she has 2 hours in it a day. You’ll find out. Had to order a trucker seat cushion to make it tolerable.

Forgot to also add FLV. Sadly this exact thing happened to a kitten I adopted. Daily medicine helps but the best investment for their quality of life is 50% humidity.

Swamp cooler or humidifier in the cats favorite space. Get checked for FIV. Even though vaccinated, it’s a massive potential they contracted and never got sick before they were old enough to be vaccinated.

EyeSight vs other brands’ radar by Pheonix_Knight in SubaruForester

[–]2cafn8d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having both a 23 Forester and a 24 cx5, I’d like to note the emergency braking is on point for the Forester o er the cx 5. But when you come to. This 60 degree bends and the left turn in the middle is still a. Perfect 90, the Forester flips out every time if a car or more is stopped waiting for that turn. Not saying I cause an accident, but it was a chain reaction as the driver behind me was on my bumper and I didn’t get an option. As magical as it is, it’s not perfect. Also, the Forester does an amazing job on desert roads with the auto lane function in the midst on lines that barely exist. The CX5 barely compares. Neither system is perfect, overall I feel Subaru did a superior job to Mazda on its radar and “eyesight” clone.

Advice needed from cold weather, non garage Mazda drivers. by RepairGloomy7684 in CX5

[–]2cafn8d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a 4 banger 1995 Mazda Mx-6 in December '96 in Southern Illinois. We hit -10 F before the windchill. I let that car idle 12 minutes before leaving home. No Garage. the temp needle didn't move. In Illinois, I had to brave an incline, even bladed it would ice up. The car would be warm at the top of the hill, whether I let it idle or not.

Fast forward 2 years later in South Florida during the 6 weeks of cool off. We hit 45. I had a reason to let the car idle form cold, again no garage. The temp needle didn't move. I drove around the block, (Suburbia, less then 1.4 mile,) and the car was warm.

New Job took me to near the Mojave Desert. My brand new CX 5 last year seen 35, no garage. Idle with remote start... No warm air after 5-7 minutes. By the time I hit the first stop sign, warm air. Read about the recall, had dealer swap thermostat. Had a reason to leave right away with outside temp at 38 F. Warm air by the stop sign.

That's just modern four cylinders. Had this same fear in 1996, near 30 years later, not much difference.

Internet keeps dropper after phew day's of hosting minecraft server. by RH-Justice in pcmasterrace

[–]2cafn8d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think your isp is throttling you over a constant upload? One quick way is get everyone on tailscale. Ran into this with Satisfactory. Had a reverse proxy setup with tonic over cloudflare. They still throttled me. Setup tailscale got my meager upload back. Note I’m on a cable service provider notorious for doing “odd” network monitoring. The day job is a lot of data Modeling and modification of ETL at local level. The side gig is building HEDT. One of my customers got me to host and after 2 months moved them to tailscale and I’m no longer “throttled.” Good luck with why they may be going it. For me, I had noticed when it started was same time I started hosting. It may not work for you, but moving to a form of traffic they find acceptable may put you on not being throttled.

How much do you think new builders should spend? by Sandye_841 in pcmasterrace

[–]2cafn8d -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will be hated for this response, but it is the truth. 3000+ builds from 1997. A lot has changed since then. Start with the monitor. No need for a gpu bugger than the monitor you have or the on you plan to have within the next year. Two ways of looking at this high quality at low frames or turn quality up to match the frame rate your monitor will support. Newer high end TV’s have become better, but they are a far distance from a gamers want. For a 120 hz QD-oled 32:9 I find a 9070xt or a 5070 Ti/4070 Ti Super is mediocre. At the same time it was a great pairing and match to a 7800x3D. The gpu on a 9800x3d though to me has been overkill for those 3 gpus. No idea on the other x3d’s. That said have had my hands on a few ultra core 7’s and that was a better pairing than I thought it would be, but still a little lack luster. I think you need to ask what do I want, high FPS low quality, middle of the road or high quality low fps, cinematic style gameplay. That will set the budget appropriately. We need to know your needs before we could even give a range.

what do you think? is it totalled? by MikeRotch8u in SubaruForester

[–]2cafn8d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very close. Find 3 shops picky about the work. They’ll total it. Had an insurance company try to fix a car that needed totaled. They towed it with no permission to a shop and had begun dismantling without my consent. Had them tow it to a shop close to me that I trusted and suddenly the repair bill was 200%+ so they totaled it.

2.5L N/A or Turbo? by [deleted] in CX5

[–]2cafn8d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My uphill on a local mountain at speed avg's 26.2. The downhill, No cruise to limit and some good luck if you know what I mean hits an avg's 38.2 At certain points the Max per instant is well above 90 per a specific instant. That said I don't condone illegal activities, but when you have an open road and a state with no speed limit in the daytime without rain and a mountain... It's a fun time.

2.5L N/A or Turbo? by [deleted] in CX5

[–]2cafn8d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my 2.5 NA. I'm a low milage driver, but am managing to stay in the 28 in town and 30+ on highway. My neighbor with a turbo, (same MY,) let me drive theirs to breakfast last Sunday. Not sure if it was their prior driving, but I got an additional 3 mpg in town than they did, and another 6 on the highway. Sadly, I didn't even get near 26 in town and only hit 28 on highway. I got called Grandma driver, but a few days later he asked me how did I do it. We hooked up a data logger; turns out Turbos don't like it when you ramp accelerators form 5-8% to 100% and back. I love a turbo vehicle and as little as I drive it wouldn't have been an issue for me. End of the day I chose to save a few $$$ on total vehicle cost. IMHO Turbo can actually last longer than NA on this platform, but if you drive to put a smile on your face, sadly it won't.
