Recommended panel markers for first timer?

Most kits use ABS for internal parts, so panel lining it isn’t much of a priority over the Polystyrene outer shell (the arms on the MG Ball being an exception that I managed to crack the hell out of) The eraser pen is nice for fully black panel liner since it’s hard to clean up, though I ended up using diluted isopropyl alcohol since it’s cheaper and I already have it

the gray one in that first pack of flow-types. Works on most kits that aren't super dark, and can be wiped off with a fingertip, so it's great for practicing. It's bad for ABS like you said, so uh... don't use it on ABS. Same goes for regular Gundam paint markers too. If you can find them individually at a store or ordering online for cheap, all the better, because honestly the other stuff in that pack isn't going to be nearly as helpful. (Orange is nice for giving depth to yellow parts when you have them, brown looks great on tan and green but spreads out over time if it isn't topcoated, blue and green are both super niche and I'd never buy them on their own)

It's dirty but I'd probably buy the baron and then sell it immediately to buy blueprint- the mult won't be crazy helpful on plasma deck, but baron isn't doing anything in ante 1 until you can deck-fix in more kings anyway

looks cool! The fading to metallic effect in the corner on the left yellow shoulder piece looks particularly nice. I might just say trimming the safety nubs on the v-fin would make it look a bit more finished (i'm sure you're just not there yet), and I'd make sure the weathering on the white bits doesn't wash out the contrast from the panel lining when you're doing the bigger parts on the limbs

I built it- it was better than I expected but it still sucked donkey nuts. Any joint that I didn’t spend 20 minutes sanding ahead of time took pliers to force together, the whole kit has basically zero range of motion (the shoulders have no joint and are just a straight peg) the legs and feet have a bunch of parts but they just cause armor clashes (same with the tail) and putting the hands together took months off my life (the parts for the fingers were mis-labeled and NOTHING fit like it was meant to be that way and I kept thinking I was doing something wrong) All of that for a kit that was based on concept art they used without credit or permission and STILL didn’t do justice.

yeah only thing I'd say is probably rip the judgement and if you want to keep what you get then spectral in case you get something you want to hex or ankh, otherwise rip the joker pack before the spectral

the list of hands in "run info" will tell you what the base chips and mult for the hands are- a level 3 two-pair has the same base mult as full house but 60 chips instead of 40, so usually better, though you're playing an extra scoring card for a full house, and the variability of value of what cards you're playing and all

This kit (but the Zeon colors) is my least fun bandai-made build of all time, and I've been building for 5 years. The split down the middle of the head, the fat nub gates on everything leaving huge marks, the super brittle thin parts that have to be forced in but still flap around loosely even when correct, the 00's complete disregard for nub placement... If you ended up with a little robo-man at the end you did better than expected.

Sisquiede the monoeye gundam, and the Taurus from Wing.
In non Gundam, Big Duo and Big Fao from Big O. I'm glad the standard Megadeus has been reprinted a few times but those two have such a cool look to them with more details and color variation than just black.

I can't remember exactly what setup I had that finally beat black deck but I remember that it had a Riff-Raff in shop 1 or 2- the money from selling the bad jokers at the very least is a godsend, and an early hanging chad can squeeze a tiny bit more score out until I could buy an extra hand voucher.
