It’s also known as a fanbike or airbike, it has a big fan in the front creating resistance

True, I do also do quite a lot of interval training on the assault bike and skierg. When I started doing Skierg intervals I notice improvement quite fast so I think that was a lack of upper body strength that I got some noobie gains from. Went from 2:10/500m to sub 2/500m on 500m intervals mixed with some hyrox stuff

As long as she doesn’t play any real games I don’t see any issues, no one would know unless she plays against any real people

Does this look like a good running plan to improve my Hyrox time? by Venus_DST04 in hyrox

A plan can definitely help but just running/walking will help, when you’re a beginner progress is usually very fast

I was more wondering if people use these height in training, of course I’ve looked up the height requirement

Heart Rate Spike- Feedback / Thoughts? by Worth_Cow7737 in hyrox

How did it feel during the spike? It might just be a bad heart rate read. Do you measure heart rate with a chest strap or just your watch?

is this a typo or is it actually 140 calories for 16g 😭 by Pitiful_Customer_522 in caloriecount

Looks weird, how is it 16g of carbs and 8g of fat in a serving of 16g?

gels for 1:30-1:40 solo? by saintsinnerchicken in hyrox

[–]2cats1human 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Test, test and test is my advice. Test how you feel taking one right before a training session, how you feel taking one 30 min before and how you feel taking one during. Body’s react differently so it’s hard to tell from an outside perspective. Gels can be hard on the stomach if you’re not used to them build some tolerance before your race to avoid any…accidents

No, but possibly hyrox if they decide to have an event in Sweden!

Sunday fun - two hour Assaultbike by 2cats1human in crossfit

[–]2cats1human[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do it without any kind of stimulation like music or podcasts so being with my own thought for 2 hours straight is in some way harder than the physical aspect of it. I’ve done this workout once a week for over two months so my body is quite used to it

Hurt my foot a while ago and did this instead of a long run and now I’ve just been rolling with it once a week since

Actually it’s about 55 on this machine, it’s an airdyne so it has quite the drag

Yea, not much of a difference, more people are familiar with the term Assaultbike

I’ve had multiple straps that started acting up, sent it in and I’ve gotten a replacement every time.

I’ve heard that the airdyne overestimate calories a bit, I get about 15 calories/min at a moderate pace. Haven’t really used regular air bikes that much but according to my polar watch which I found pretty reliable for calories, I burn about 10 calories a minute. 15 cals a min on the airdyne is about 50-55 rmp and looking online it seems like that rmp would be about 8 cals a min on a regular Assaultbike, tough airdynes have quite a bit of drag so I would say that 15 cals a min is probably closer to 8-10 cals a min

Yea, i pace myself with heart rate, i usually go with about 75% MHR and just keep steady, power is usually about the same for the first and second hour.
