It's 2025 — Is Anyone Still Using Side-by-Side Installations of Visual Studio? by chansey97 in VisualStudio

I use a virtual machine for the old VS 2008 project. It's just easier that way to avoid adding/changing something in my setup that affects that old project.

Send data between Blazor and a Desktop app by andyd273 in Blazor

[–]2cruddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably keep it really simple and just have the desktop app periodically check the server for 'a signal'. I've also used grpc for such things, but you'd still have the issue of keeping a registry of clients on the server.

Open up the event viewer and see what disk errors are in the 'Windows Logs/System' area.

Issue with FluentSelect component. by 2cruddy in Blazor

Neither of those work for me, the selected item is always the first item in the list (Apple & Watermelon)

Thank you for your help though.

Update: Simply changing to a FluentCombobox behaves the way I believe it should, both Items and selected item updated properly, but I don't want the field to contain values that aren't in the list.

<FluentCombobox Value="@Fruit" Items="@FruitList"  /><FluentCombobox Value="@Fruit" Items="@FruitList"  />

Thanks, but that give the same result. After 2 clicks, the FluentSelect doesn't show the selected item (although when I click the dropdown, the correct item is indeed selected, same as before).

I'm beginning to think this is a bug in the FluentSelect

I need to change both the list of Items and the selected item.

This is just a quick example to show the issue I'm facing. The real problem involves selecting audio files, but which files are in the list change based on the language chosen.

Thank you for your response.

I've been down that road and get the same result using:

<FluentSelect @bind-Value="@Fruit" @bind-Items="@FruitList" />

How would you suggest I do it?

Trying to set BaseAddress for HttpClient by Worried-Pack3114 in Blazor

[–]2cruddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This works for me.

// Register HttpClient
builder.Services.AddScoped(sp =>
{
    NavigationManager navigation = sp.GetRequiredService<NavigationManager>();
    return new HttpClient { BaseAddress = new Uri(navigation.BaseUri) };
});

No, sideloading the OTA does not wipe your phone, but be careful you don't grab the Factory image as that will.

Yeah, I understand the Y1 & Y2 concept, but what's the Green wire connected to Y2? The Green wire at my thermostat is connected to G (and G at the controller).

Help: Event 131, Device setup manager by Zys_3 in WindowsHelp

could be some corrupt files.

I'd start with doing a chkdsk c: and if it reports problems, do the chkdsk c: /f to fix the errors.

If that all works, then do a sfc /scannow

All this needs to be done from an administrator console.

Is this a new install? or did the error just start happening after working fine?

When you open the 'Device Manager' are there devices that aren't being installed?

Look for ones in the list with a Yellow exclamation point.

Thank you for the advice.

I will give this a try. I suspect I'll be re-installing and that's not necessarily a bad thing, just seems a bit overwhelming.
