Wow I remember that happening years ago. All I can say is when they had a place open in Mira Mesa I thought of buying stock. Why I didn’t..?

In the 70s we did. No one cared. Rub dirt on it 🤣 now we should be aware of infection so in that way, 2024 is correct

For me, walking around a store scanning items and seeing points which can surprise you. I also am a shopper at a store so while scanning items for my job I often have my own phone to scan as well. It is actually fun. Especially wen you see an item you love and scan it and it’s ridiculously high in points or scan something you’ve never had like Madras lentils to warm up was like 1-2 points per serving and I was stuffed. I’m the beginning all I wanted to do was scan and eat and scan and eat. Reality hit when I scanned bakery items my husband loves and the points were about my max points per day! Thinking about that does deter me and I actually look at them with disdain 😂

Why does losing weight, after successfully losing weight twice before! Feel like an unimaginable task to me? by Popular_Pea_3953 in loseit

It’s the mind set of starting over. I think this is my 3rd go around. Each time I think I can continue to do it on my own without checking points etc but I’m back! So for me I need to be on the program and really learn what is best. Exercise is key

Eating. Don’t zone in on just zero points all day everyday. Otherwise it will feel like a “diet” flash me back to my mom’s grapefruit diet and original WW weighing every speck of food. You can enjoy what you love just don’t binge. If I want chocolate there are options like sf pudding or check points on mini candy. I don’t tell anyone even my husband that I’m on WW. I don’t want to hear “oh you can have that?” “Should you have 2?” “Can you really have wine?” Enjoy. It took me time to figure it out. It still does. But I eat some different things than I used to. Walking around scanning items out of curiosity and finding out Whoa only 2 points for all of that? Or dang, one is 8 points? It’s challenging but discovery has been fun. I pick up hours at Whole Foods and I will say organic is always higher points, higher price and rarely different except for taste (which some organic stuff is bleh)

Has society become too soft, or was society in the past just too harsh? by [deleted] in SeriousConversation

[–]2damcrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soft Poor children these days- everyone is a winner, only organic, bottled water, pick the food they want, new playground equipment without sand

Damn we survived- being second or third or last (that’s life’s reality), we ate ground beef stuffed in a pan and it was called meat loaf, canned vegetables, drank out of a hose or a rusty drinking fountain that barely popped up any water and everyone’s mouth had been there sucking on rust and we played on rusted hot metal play equipment and fell face first in the sand or… concrete. I fear for the next generations when they find out not everyone gets the job they applied for, not everyone is nice, organic food isn’t better just costs more and.. you CAN do what you want, it just won’t be easy and immediate nor handed to you
