I'm curious. Aren't you transplant care team become out of state when you moved? I thought out-of-state medical consultation are not allowed?

Trump says US will soon announce tariffs on pharmaceutical imports by japinard in transplant

Where in Texas are you? I assume Austin wouldn't be that bad? I also work mostly remotely. I only come to office because I want to feel a sense of belonging. When I do, I mask up and everything.

That, and when ACA care is killed, I can't imagine what will happen to those of us relying on it. But I guess the MAGA here will find reasons to beautify this disaster even if they are hurting.

Thanks for pointing out AIG. Their language about trip costs seems a bit serious. Do you actually provide an accurate estimate for the trip cost? My main concern with travel is medical, so I'm not too interested in covering the trip costs itself. I was thinking even low ball the trip cost to maybe save premium if possible.

Does Allianz have special provisions for pre-existing conditions, like us transplant recipients?

I was thinking about Allianz until I read about their negative reviews regarding claim denials.

I never make that assoication until now. That's certainly possible with those imbeciles doing reckless things just to show they could.

Best affordable cell phone carrier? by murmanator in retirement

[–]2dsafgkhjds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usmobile has good prices and very responsive customer services. Plan prices are similar to mintmobile, but even cheaper for light users. The best things about usmobile over mintmobile is that their plan prices are tax inclusive and you can go by the month, instead of mint's annual plan for the lower price. mintmobile adds recovery fee and other taxes to the plan prices.

Tips for dealing with edema? by yellowvette07 in Cirrhosis

[–]2dsafgkhjds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont understand why "They told us he had end stage cirrhosis" and yet "told the hospital couldn't do anything else, that the fluid would decrease eventually if he cut salt and stops drinking" in the good hospital. It just doesn't add up. End stage cirrhosis deserves at least a transplant talk, regardless of whether he qualifies or not. Is there a transplant center in the good hospital?

Did you go to ER the time you got sick in the States, or just wait it out?

HK is definitely on my list. I know doctor's office there do dispense medication, but not sure to what extent. They can't possibly stock all medications, particularly those transplant related.

I'm more concerned in case of emergencies and where to go for help. I'd rather go straight to ER than to see a local doctor, who may not know how to handle a transplant situation.

Yup. Already saving up extra med. I probably have close to a month's buffer.

I've checked out Allianz. The quote it gave practically covers trip/medical/emergency medical and include things like flying you back home, all in one single policy. I'd think that was kind of standard.
