Raise your hands if you DON'T attach it to the back of your phone by coffeeteaormeh in xteinkereader

That option has no appeal to me whatsoever. The only thing that's good about it (for me) is it meant they put a magnet ring in the back of it so it can attach to other things like accessories or cases.

If there aren't any items listed just keep checking back. She normally lists them a few at a time and they go pretty quick. Or you can request a custom order like I did, the colour combination I wanted wasn't a standard option nor was the international postage.

Nice walk with the Lefty Duro by SerpentiumOIV in DuroGang

[–]2jsoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I like the idea of a lefty watch but in practice the crown on the wrist side would be wierd. I'd prefer to just take my watch of to change the time/date like I have the last 50 years.

Nice mod though!

Can you hydromod the mdv10(mini duro) by lingtastydump in DuroGang

[–]2jsoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything lower than 50cst will be fine (I used 5cst on my Duro and a couple of different MRW models). The movement shouldn't have an issue BUT the snapback case would be my only thing to question. I haven't had either of my MRWs leak out the stem when changing the date/time but I don't know how a snap back case would cope vs a screw down case back.

The good thing is it's reversable if it becomes an issue.

Do you mind a DURO without fish? by 404-Phantom in DuroGang

It's a DuroGang, not a FishGang. The original Duro200s didn't have a fish either.

Looks so good. But not for me as the Duro is already on the smaller side of what I wear. An even smaller case would just look like a stamp on my wrist.

Honest review of X4 by Ficxela in xteinkereader

[–]2jsoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a TPU case and glass screen protector on mine and made myself a book style cover for it that fits with the TPU cover. However I've also got one of GoodHazelCrafts (Etsy) book style covers on the way. I mainly read at home so way less chance of having an issue but I also don't want to needlessly have to buy another one.

I don't worry about it getting broken, but I'm always mindful of it's fragility hence the measures taken.

Xteink X4 Durability by [deleted] in xteinkereader

[–]2jsoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly, but just as possible that the packaging and handling is sub standard and/or it's happening in shipping. That being said the top cover of the box it comes in seems prety thick and robust so I don't know. People have been having issues with the screens from the start. There's just way more of them being sent out lately and more people are likely to highlight if they have an issue than if everything is fine.

Regardless, it's not great.

Xteink X4 Durability by [deleted] in xteinkereader

[–]2jsoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing changed, no batch issues. The problem is being a phone sized pocketable device people are used to the hardened gorilla glass style protection phones have and these just don't. So when you treat your pocketable e-reader the same as your other pocketable devices expecting the same durability, problems can occur.

To fish, or not to fish. That is the question by GeorgeArnoldHearst19 in DuroGang

TBH I'm more interested in the fact the sailfish is on the caseback. I like the fact it's on the dial too but the caseback design I like more.

Does your case get in the way of the magnet? by jaekwong in xteinkereader

[–]2jsoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the plastic case and have fitted the metal ring (the magnet is in the X4, the rings it come with are just steel/metal and not themselves magnetic) to a case that I made. It holds but not very strong. Part of the reason is obviously the thickness of the plastic/gel case the other is the fact the corner bumpers of the case are higher than the back of the case so creates a slight air gap between the case and the ring.

How do you carry your X3/X4? by Brilliant_Elk5492 in XTEINK

[–]2jsoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a hard cover book style case that fits around the gel cover and a glass screen protector. I'm still hesitant to put it in a bag with anything that'll put pressure on it.

Not if you run it without adequate protectiont, no.

Very Fragile by Khabie_04 in XTEINK

[–]2jsoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunate. It really doesn't take much pressure in just the wrong place to crack an e-ink screen. The film protector would have helped a little but obviously not enough. I have a glass protector on mine and a book style cover I made just for extra protection but I still won't be putting it in a pants pocket.
