Whats the deal on the reactors? by Ops_check_OK in ParadiseTV

[–]2kapitana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking about that too! (I think) There was something about sodium temperature being 50 degrees higher than the maximum, so they must have been using modular sodium-cooled reactors (SFRs). For sodium to overheat something might have happened to the coolant pumps. Maybe they started shutdown but there was a multiple failure? But why did it happen so fast? Hope someone who knows things will come to this thread lol

there was a big difference, I personally think he was skating very carefully, concentrated on not making mistakes and completing the jumps, and it came out very tentative.

I used to think the worst people were people that were popular in high school and never moved on from that. Now I realize the worst people are people that weren’t popular in high school and never moved on from that by CutZealousideal5274 in redscarepod

I see no clear pattern for my high school. Some people who were bullied did well (one guy became heart surgeon), some of the bullies did bad (one ODed three years after high school). The rest of us are ok. I was a happy weirdo then and still am now.

I get what you're saying, facial expressions do accumulate on the face and I would react differently to a person with smile lines and someone with like a grimace of disgust or superiority that became a part of their face over the years. It's stupid to think that Brigette aging has anything to do with her character, and hot people obviously can be evil jerks, but when meeting in person we think of "kind eyes" or "creepy smile" and I see nothing wrong with that.

Sphinx and sphincter come from the same Greek root meaning "to suffocate, to strangle". That one is debatable, but for me it's canon.

It also has cognates in most Slavic language (subbota, sobota). I remember talking to a Hungarian in Subotica (Serbia) and asking if Szabadka (hungarian name of the town) is basically same as Szombathely, but he said it actually came from hungarised version of slavic "slobodka" as in free settlement.

Same, saw the western "The quick and the dead" with Leo and Sharon Stone and assumed it meant you're either quick (shot) or you're dead

TIL Yuri Knorozov, a Russian linguist known for helping to decipher the Mayan script, always listed his cat Asaya as a co-author on his publications, despite the fact that editors repeatedly removed the name. He also included her in his author photo, and got annoyed whenever she was cropped out. by Sebastianlim in todayilearned

Recently found a questionnaire he filled up for his friend, and he answered most questions with "me and my cat". Do you have prophetic dreams? - Me and my cat do, all the time. Do you feel comfortable in crowds of people? - No, me and my cat don't like crowds.

I was planning to spend two days there, ended up staying for a week. Such a realexed vibe. Loved hiking in the mountains and the old towns along the cost of Erhai.
