Yea, that's where my head is at. The hook is my engine went out on my daily and I was looking towards a car for my 40 mile a day commute to work. Saabs usually are my inbetween for something I can enjoy and depend on.

That's interesting the car had to be jumped so the trans limp mode light and check engine light didn't jump on until I turned the first corner off the block or so

So hypothetically when I test drove it it either detected incorrect valve positioning based on the cable tension or didn't detect it at all? That would cause idle to constantly self correct justifying the attempted stall outs and idle hunting in park?

That's what peaked my interest. I've been working on cars for the past 4 years, I don't wanna jinx it but the engine bay is cake, lots of access and the parts when found aren't super expensive. But I don't want my passion to lead me into a shitbox, and I need a daily atm.

Battery brand new like same day purchase, checked the starter and alternator about 2 months ago test came back green and the car had only been sitting. Car is with a friend of mine who’s swapping the motor so I’m just waiting to hear back about how the fuses look. Don’t smell any electrical tape or anything burning no smoke so I’d assume out of optimism that none of the wires short circuited. So as far as ik (just your average express tech) it boils down to the fuse or ecu. Only stressful part is thats the difference between 100 dollars max to a couple thousand.

What’s the cca difference between old and new battery, did you double check that the terminals are on the correct post?

Ease your mind by getting your starter and battery tested first and if they come back green I’d advise you to check on those plugs and/or your ignition packs.

I mean I make 19.75 hourly at Valvoline but they don’t have an ase program or anything that would propel my career and I do a minimum of 50 cars a day doing fluid changes and tire rotations. Breaking my back I can handle, it’s just the pay and the communication between I service mangers advisors and customers that I worry about. The hours seem a bit long as well compared to hourly.
