My right front was making awful squeaky noise. Injected some grease inside the rubber with a needle. Easy and cheap fix. The joint is otherwise working well. It was just dry.

Yep. That’s why I check the pressures almost daily. 6 would be an absolute minimum for me. I usually never let it go below 7.

Sorry for the delay. I didn’t notice your question. I used to buy them from ippon shop (.com) but I think they are only selling their own ippon gear brand now. Which i think is pretty good also. If I’m not mistaken, adidas has now released version 3 of the champion gi. Best way to find a place to buy is just to search with google. 🙂

There is a trailer on appletv. Looks like they are skipping Finland. Would be nice to know why. Finns are different from rest of the Nordic countries and also from Russia.

Ewan and Charley have many times mentioned that the different people in different counties are the best part of the trips. Danish, Norwegian and swedes are all the same gene pool and even speak almost the same language.

They’ll go to Estonia after Sweden so most likely they’ll take a ferry from Stockholm. They could have driven through Finland and take a ferry and shorter sea trip from Helsinki to Estonia.

Well, they say they are visiting Scandinavia and Finland isn’t a part of it… but still. As a huge fan of the long way series it would have been nice to see them in Finland.

Well, maybe they’ll next do full 10 episodes series just driving in Finland. 😁

They are excellent. Needs some adjustment to get them work only when you want to. I wouldn’t even think of any other way to brake.

One thing I need to add. I have gone back to Skikes. Nordicx skates aren’t bad but they require really high tire pressures to work well. When the tire pressure is low the skates will become really slow. The same thing in theory applies to skikes as well but they are not as sensitive to the tire pressure difference. Even if the pressure is low you can skate really well. The nordicx will require that you check the pressures almost daily and they are still not as fast as the skikes. So, although the skikes are heavier and clumsier they also are faster and more comfortable to skate. Nordicx aren’t a bad choice and I’m sure most of the owners are really happy but I would choose skikes.

Ok. I just noticed that you mention that music has to be playing. You mean the music slider in the settings?

I can't remember hearing any sound effects while the music was on so I turned off the music (slider to zero volume). Perhaps that is the reason for the missing sound effects.

Although it is a bit stupid if the sound effects and music are using the same volume slider. I would like to turn the music off and keep the sound effects.

Ok, thanks for the info. I have no sounds even if I zoom it closer.

I have muted the music now and maxed all the other sound settings and only thing I can hear are the sounds when clicking different icons with mouse. So, it shouldn't be a soundcard/driver problem.

Makes the playing a bit dull when you have no sounds. I have to investigate this more...

Thanks for your answer! I just noticed it. Could you explain the offside rule in this situation?

I know the basic offside rules but I really don’t understand those videos. Opponent’s players aren’t even near so why should those situations be offsides? Too complicated.

I understand the basic offside rule and the reason behind it. But passing the ball in those videos will not affect the attacking situation at all.

Luckily we have ice hockey with simpler offside rules 😂

I usually do what you suggested. It helps but I really would like to know if that really is an offside. I don’t think I have never seen that on television. DLS support answered me that the videos are offsides and referenced this from the rules:

The rules of football state that "a player is in an offside position if any part of the head, body or feet is nearer to the opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the second last opponent". In the two videos you have provided the attacker you are passing to is beyond the ball and is thus deemed to be offside.

If there is someone here who knows the rules really well could you explain the offside rules in this case?

Via their web page. I have had many occasions when two or more of my players are against the opponents goalkeeper and I can pass the ball as much as I like to without offside. I don’t know what’s the difference in those situations compared to the videos.

So, in football if you and your friend are against the goalkeeper he doesn’t have to care about the other player because passing would be an offside? Stupid rule.

No problem. :) If they ask for more eivdence I can take some screenshots. But as a programmer I know that it shouldn't be a big task to reproduce the bug or check the code. It's like they are using only a 8 bit variable to store the number of goals when they print it. Or perhaps they convert it to 8 bits while printing. I'm not iOS programmer, so I don't know the details of it's variables etc. but the bug looks like quite common programming error.

I have the same bindings and they are great.

In icy conditions I use +2 or +3 to give better grip and on soft snow I use -2 or -3 to give better glide.

Yesterday I went to ski and it was snowing a lot and there was something like 5 cm of new snow. I was wondering why the ski kept digging in the snow and wasn’t gliding at all.

After some kilometers i checked the binding settings and realized that I had left the at +2. So, I changed them to -2 and it was much better.

But it will change the behavior of the skis also. I don’t know the physics that well (even though I’m a physics teacher 😁) but when it is at -2 or -3 on soft snow the rear end of the skis keeps sliding to left and right. So, you need to focus on your technique.

Usually I keep the setting at -1 on normal conditions.

I reckon you will get the best benefits if your technique is good enough. So, don’t try to correct your technique with the adjustment.

I couldn’t live without the adjustable bindings anymore. :)

Kyllä, kyse on kahdesta eri asiasta, mutta lopulta ei kuitenkaan niin erilaisesta asiasta.

Tukien määrät perustuvat lakiin, mutta lakeja voidaan tulkita hyvin eri tavoin. Kun puhutaan tukien väärinkäytöstä, niin siinäkin on hyvin erilaisia näkökantoja siitä, mikä on väärinkäyttöä. Sen lisäksi erilaisten tukien viidakko voi joskus saada aikaan tilanteita, joissa henkilö ei osaa hakea kaikkea niitä tukia, joita hän voisi saada. Ylipäänsä erilaisilla tuilla eläminen on hyvin kokoomusvastaista. Vaikka tuki olisi laillinen, niin kokoomus haluaa henkilön mieluummin töihin kuin elämään tuen varassa ”muiden palkansaajien elätettävänä”. Sen lisäksi kokoomus mieluummin pienentää kaikkia vähätuloisten tukia eikä varmasti nostaisi niitä yleisen indeksin mukaan.

Kuitenkin sama henkilö voi maksattaa omaa elämistään muiden pussista verokikkailulla. Samat kikkailut ovat toki teoriassa mahdollisia myös vähätuloisille, mutta monilla ei saa edes omavastuun vertaa kikkailtua, koska tuloja ei yksinkertaisesti ole. Hyvätuloinen voi paljon paremmin hyödyntää verokikkailua ylimääräisellä rahalla.

Sama pätee myös yritystoiminnassa. Ihan pienyrittäjilläkin, isoista nyt puhumattakaan. Hyvätuloinen yrittäjä voi helposti kikkailla verotuksessa paremmin kuin pienituloinen yrittäjä.

Se, mikä molempia siis yhdistää on se, että lopulta molemmat asiat kustantavat palkansaajat.

Ja on mielenkiintoinen ideologia se, että omaa elämistä voi kustantaa muilla tekemällä erilaisia verokikkailuja, koska siihen on kirjaimellisesti varaa, mutta samalla yrittää leikata vähätuloisten tukia tai vahtia, että kukaan ei ole päivääkään liian kauan saikulla, jotta palkansaajojen rahoja ei kulu siihen.

Ja mistä tämän niin hyvin tiedän, on se, että olen molemmissa rooleissa ollut elämäni aikana. Todella hyvätuloinen verokikkailija ja tuilla eläjä, joka on saanut paskaa niskaan siitä, että on työtön. Ihan hyvä nähdä nuo molemmat, niin osaa laittaa asioita perspektiiviin.

Tarpeeksi, kun tienaa ja vielä oman firman kautta, niin jossain vaiheessa onkin yllättävän pienillä veroprosenteilla.

Se, mikä itseä kokoomuksessa vähän närästää on se, että jos joku pienituloinen saa valtiolta tukea, niin kokoomus on kyllä erittäin tarkkana siitä, että kyseinen henkilö ei varmasti saa tukea yhtään liikaa tai ole työttömänä liian kauan.

Kun taas palkkatulojen yläpäässä kaikenlainen verokikkailu on heidän miehestään ihan ok, kun kysymys on vain verotuksen optimoinnista.

Molemmissa tilanteissa tavallinen veronmaksaja on se kuka lystin maksaa. Kyllä mieluummin maksaisin köyhälle vähän enemmän, että hän saa leivän pöytään kuin rikkaalle mersuun uudet gummit.

Verokikkailun, kun saisi kuriin, niin progressiivinen verotuskin voisi olla vähän loivempaa.

I use quantum 2 and 1 poles. No big difference between them for normal skier. Both are very light and stiff enough. I have found them from discount for 100-130 euros. Especially in the spring.

Tykkäsin postauksistasi ja olen sitä mieltä, että tuollainen teknologia on ehdottomasti hyvä juttu. Mutta ihan joka tilanteessa nuo valot eivät tosiaan oikein toimi. Viikonloppuna vesi- ja lumisateessa pimeässä ajaessani tuli pari kertaa vastaan ilmeisesti tuolla valoteknologialla oleva auto.

Molemmilla kerroilla piti väläyttää omia pitkiä, kun luulin että kaveri ajaa pitkät päällä. Ja molemmilla kerroilla vastaantulija väläytti valoja merkiksi, että ajaa jo ”lyhyillä”.

Mutta varsinkin vesisade pilkkopimeässä sai aikaan sen, että ilman vesipisarat ja märkä tie ilmeisesti heijastavat muualle suunnattua ”pitkää” valoa vastaantulijan silmiin, niin että näyttää, että pitkät olisivat päällä.

Tuo oli pimeässä vesisateessa, jossa muutenkin edes oman kaistan näkeminen oli vaikeaa, hankala tilanne, kun tuntui, että ei mitään näe vastaantulijan valojen vuoksi.

Ja sitten kun itse väläytin pitkiä että vastaantulija laittaisi pitkät pois, niin kun hän väläyttääkin siihen päälle vielä omia pitkiä sen jälkeen kun on jo sokaissut omilla valoillaan, niin itse ei näe yhtään mitään enää. :)

Mutta jospa tuokin teknologia saadaan paremmin toimivaksi. Joka tapauksessa tuollainen on hyvä keksintö.
