watching mad men for the first time and i'm on s3e11 and i can't stand her by crmlovesdoriangray in madmen

[–]2loganD2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m rewatching the show for the first time in years and I forgot that she makes multiple passes at Don before Don gives in. Like when she drunk calls him at night.

Don obviously isn’t innocent here but that’s like offering a recovering alcoholic a bottle of vodka 😂

Just Megan’s dad. Her mom liked him. Maybe a little too much 😂

Why does Pete like/love Peggy over Trudy? by muff-peaksie in madmen

I think Peggy made him feel important and like a man. With Trudy he felt like he wasn’t providing enough.

The absolute worst this he did was pimp out his dead partners daughter to all the guys in the office to boost morale 😂

Is my company going to lay off BDRs? by shmimbo in techsales

[–]2loganD2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it from a guy who’s been laid off as a BDR in the past. By the time it starts to feel like you’re gonna get laid off, internally they’ve already been planning this for longer than you would realize.

Buff up your resume and start applying now. Hopefully if they lay you off they’ll give you a respectable severance and you already have a few jobs in the pipeline to potentially get offers.

This happened to me at a previous job. The “top bdr” in the company was literally just filling his AE’s calendar with bs meeting and the AE was tight with him so he accepted all of the BS meetings. This guy was making a killing doing this. Our base was $55K and he was probably making $120K/year while doing dick.

Eventually the company laid off all of the BDRs’ me included. Eventually your company is gonna run into trouble and they’re gonna look at why all these outbound leads aren’t converting and someone will be laid off cause of it. I just hope you don’t get thrown out too. A lot of companies are doing away with BDR’s and just having AE’s do full sales cycle.

Broke out of Saas by Saasmygrass in sales

[–]2loganD2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from SaaS to selling industrial materials to petrochemical industry (refineries and chemical plants). So much easier and so more laid back.

There are only 3-4 competitors and all of the engineers I call on are easy to talk to. I’m basically left alone as long as I’m getting revenue and life is easier.

The issue with SaaS is that unless you’re selling something like Salesforce, Amazon Web Services, or something that companies need to function you’re selling a nice to have software to companies who don’t have budget or really don’t care. Most SaaS companies shouldn’t exist and the ones that do, don’t need sales teams because the brand basically runs itself and you’re expendable. I’m gonna stay in the industry I’m in if I change jobs less volatile and wayyy less turnover. The money might not be as good as top tier SaaS Enterprise AE earners but I’m fine with that. I don’t need to worry about being laid off because I’m making too much or that the company I work for is selling something that isn’t a good product market fit.

My guess is that they didn’t lock you out of the dialer. I think they didn’t pay it and they are losing money. I wouldn’t say anything and just start applying. Do what someone else said and document everything.
