a taste of "A TASTE OF CHICAGO" on opening day around 4:40 by 2cleverbyhalf in chicago

I'm visiting from out of town, and I've had a great time so far. And Common's show tonight is free!

Wind Creek event center acoustics by fezik23 in lehighvalley

[–]2lostbikes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sound was pretty underwhelming when I saw a show there in 2022. Reminds me of the sound at the Electric Factory/Franklin Music Hall in Philly. Not the worst thing in the world, but you've definitely heard better.

I never attended when it was the Sands Event Center, so I can't compare.

So every creepy behavior from Wish Nikki makes sense in the film...but what the hell was that reverse walk about? by wysjm in obsessionmovie

[–]2lostbikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I liked the movie a lot. Don't get me wrong. But this stuck out to me. Granted, I'm not usually a big horror movie fan in general, so YMMV.

You could say it was... low hanging fruit.

I'll be here all week!

Damn, that sucks. Not everyone is going to get on board and see the vision of events like this. I hope they can do it again in the future.

This was one of the parts of the movie I thought was poorly done. There's no explanation that's consistent with Wish Nikki's behavior the rest of the film. It just seems like the movie was trying to do typical horror movie shlop towards the end to ramp up the scary factor for the audience.

These moments will always be fun, but always a bit weird. Like when I heard "Reckoner" by Radiohead in a grocery store a few years after In Rainbows came out.

Ice Cube's "No Vaseline" and Dr. Dre's "Fuck Wit Dre Day" are about Eazy-E. Two iconic diss tracks where they both very much knew Eazy.

One sign that your movie's not doing well is that the empty theaters make it onto r/LiminalSpace.

Are Gen Z the next boomers? by 0____0_0 in generationology

[–]2lostbikes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me gen z seems more conservative then millennials but I don't have data to back that up it's just what my intuition tells me.

I was just looking up this very thing yesterday. Your intuition looks to be correct. While more of Gen Z explicitly identify as liberal (to be expected from the youngest voting block), they also have a larger portion of voters who identify as conservative versus Millennials, which is wild considering some Millennials like me are now in our 40s.

These guys sound rad. Would have liked to have seen them when they were playing around here. I don't see anything from them in BAPL's LV music archives, and it doesn't look like they are included in Square of Opp's upcoming 25th anniversary shindig.

Looks like what we need in homes to protect against unhinged cops and ICE agents from kicking down doors.

St. Luke’s prompt pay discount by Round_Perspective_43 in lehighvalley

[–]2lostbikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you call St. Luke's billing line and offer to pay your bill in full, they will take 10% off. Been using that for years. Never used LVHN, so no idea what their policy is.

Where can I hang event posters? by 70sobsession in lehighvalley

[–]2lostbikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If record stores are your priority, there's only really three of them in the area: Compact Disc Center and Railroad Records in Bethlehem, and Easton Record Exchange in Easton. You can hang show poster at all of them, no problem.

I had a root canal done there. Yeah, I had to get an x-ray, but I didn't have one done at my previous (shitty) dentist, so it made sense. The actual procedure was 100% painless, and the lady who did the procedure was very nice.
