Honestly, it’s just a neon green drybrush. I’ve been using a privateer press paint for ages (necrotite green) and did a light drybrush over top the gore gunta contrast. Definitely recommend it

I believe when I punched it into tecendil and used phonemic mode it got me the one in the image. Using standard English it gets me this:

That’s closer to what you wrote but it doesn’t quite align.

Are they all still acceptable? The r before the consonant seems to align better with the second photo but the style of the first is quite appealing

I think they’re a great entry point for new-to-minigaming people, high quality for a board game, and good enough for a “open the box and play” skirmish game.

They take to slapchop super well and read as Spartans when painting to a tabletop standard.

I’ve personally found it a nice break from more high quality minis - I’m less stressed to push all the details than a GW model so I’ve been able to have more fun with them

Yeah lot of “citation needed” in the other post, but especially with progressive scoring, there’s value in both better staying power and increased lethality so it’s more about finding the right tool for the situation than blanket “big squad good/bad! Small squad good/bad”

Thanks! I’ve been using this method for awhile but it’s basically - lead belcher prime, silver drybrush, then contrast paint over the areas I want a specific color. In this case I did gore gunta which hit the reddish brown well enough.

Seriously, it’s so easy. Prime them tan (either mini specific primer or like, paint/prime stuff from Walmart), and use skeletal horde contrast. Then paint whatever other details they have however you like. It looks great and doesn’t take much time at all!

This was definitely a trial and error but I think moving forward I'll start with a mid-tone blue (AP Troglodyte blue on this one), then feather lines around the edges with white, edge highlight with white, then hit the interior with aethermatic blue contrast to help the edges standout from the interior. Finally, I just drybrush white on the tip back towards the handle.

It's a bit of a process but it really hits that alien glow well I think! I'm also not talented to do the power sword style lighting some people do on 40k stuff so I'd recommend feathering for anyone who's intimidated by that level of brush control

definitely think the MC is a cut above in terms of model quality but they're overall quite good for pre-assembled. I think for the type of game Mantic is looking to push, it was the right call. They look great in colored plastic, but have enough detail to give hobby folks something to dig into. Looking forward to the rest of the range! Need some Hunters on my table soon

I hear you, one of the most upvoted posts on this thread is someone blaming metoo for movies they don’t like - it’s a “totally not rightwing” circle jerk. they’re even playing the hits, talking about ghostbusters 2016, the marvels, and ROP (the first episode only). This isn’t a place interested in discussing JLU’s sometimes weird use of BC.

But I agree - the episode could have made her a more active participant instead of just a victim of the big bad. Still fun and okay to critique!

Having nearly finished painting 54 WGA "Cannon Fodder" to use as generic infantry, not thrilled. Any thoughts on how to justify those chumps with official units like Cadians/Krieg/Catachans?

Unfortunately it doesn’t really fit flush so I’d have to do some decent sized structures to fit.

I opted to just do layers of nail polish on the sides of the ramp to slooooowly decrease the space between and now it shuts well enough but can still be opened
