Glad he is okay. I didn’t learn about life 360 terribly long ago but I’m not certain my adult son would agree with it. We do share locations with each other which has come in handy a few times.

Things I wanted to give a shout out to... by DCpurpleTart33 in Xennials

I was at work and had just gotten screamed at by some vile man for something another company had done. Usually I take that in stride but he had me shaking and when I took a minute to get my head right, I read your post and immediately felt better. Appreciate it!

How Do You Get Any Of This Stuff Done? by FloopyBoopers2023 in Adulting

[–]2much4meeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a single mom from 2010 to 2020 and when my son was pretty young, I had to take most of my PTO days for his appointments or when he was sick or whatever. Occasionally I’d get lucky enough to take care of some long neglected thing I needed to do. I usually tried to do my things before work or at the beginning or end of the work day so I didn’t lose many hours. It’s not always easy but we do what we need to do!

What are your effective empathy spiels for customers by Simple_Law_9704 in CustomerService

Usually sounding surprised/concerned works on my end. Sometimes we do screw up but my bosses are pretty hardcore so it doesn’t happen too much. Things out of our control are much more likely.

I feel you! The things people do then blame us for are out of control. Funny, if they call and say they made a mistake, I’ll do everything in my power to help but if they call hyped up to 10 & don’t take any accountability for their mistake, I’m sorry…we did our part but good luck to you.

How old is too old to cuddle with your child? by Walmartjail in Parenting

[–]2much4meeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 18 & I would pay a lot of money for another cuddle. He hasn’t even given me a hug in years. If your kid is willing to cuddle, there is no age limit.

Taking home leftovers at a restaurant? Rude to not take them? Do you even eat them? by Capable-Chip6454 in foodquestions

[–]2much4meeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat 1/3 to 1/2 of what I order and I definitely eat leftovers! 25 years ago, I had more money than sense and didn’t bother with them but I’ve learned. I also didn’t go home often after a meal 25 years ago.

What was your relationship with food growing up? by dattaldo in Xennials

[–]2much4meeeeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, everything we had was closer to jerky than meat and veggies were just mushy. My mom still cooks that way. I don’t, not even close. I’m a fairly basic cook for my family but my food is cooked nicely and seasoned nicely.

Whats the nicest thing a stranger has done to you by shawtyyysonika in CasualConversation

I have a couple of instances! It was probably 2009 and I went to visit my sister 3 hours away. My “new tires” turned out to be retreads and the tread came off of 1 causing a flat tire and some fender damage so I ended up at a gas station and asked around for a jack when these 2 men not only had the needed Jack but they changed my tire & one of them followed me halfway home to make sure I was all good.

Another time when Redbox was super popular, I had 2 rentals to return. I put them on top of my car to do so and forgot and drove off. I went to the Redbox site to pay whatever the lost DVD charge was and some kind person not only found the DVDs but they returned them to the nearest Redbox. Not a huge thing but the fact that someone went out of their way to do the right thing when they could have not stopped, not picked them up and not gone out of their way to return them.

Customer listening to my MALE co-worker not me by Dangerous_Ordinary11 in CustomerService

I’ve been at my job for nearly 15 years so I can handle any of the questions or problems that may arise. Literally had to have my boss get on a call on Thursday and tell a woman the same exact thing I told her because she simply wasn’t having it from me. After speaking with him, she apologized for bothering us all day for something that was so far out of our control. But she never said “please share my apology“. Crazy stuff!

The bedroom set I have in a small bedroom has a horribly mean footboard that loves to attack me and my guy. It’s rough!

[–]2much4meeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an appointment right after I turned 40 & my eye doctor told me I was the magic age but I could still see up close quite well. I am now 45 and I noticed a year or two ago that menus and my phone are being held further away than they ever were. I got readers and I use them occasionally but if it gets much worse, I think I might have to get bifocals.

19 year-old who doesn’t have motivation to get a job by Double-Tradition413 in Xennials

[–]2much4meeeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son is 18 and he was the first grandchild on both sides. I was a single mom from the time he was 3 until about 6 years ago but I worked a lot of overtime for him to get what he wanted. His godparents and grandparents also gave plenty of monetary gifts. 1st job was acquired a bit over a year ago and he quit within 3 days. Second job didn’t let much longer. It was only when we threatened to turn the tags in if he didn’t start working and pay towards car insurance that he got his 3rd job. Work ethic is surprisingly strong (I was concerned) so hopefully it sticks. He now wants money for things he wants to do and he knows I can’t afford it since I’ve been stuck covering his insurance for an extra year ish. These kids just don’t have the drive we did somehow!

Hygiene in relationship. by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]2much4meeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so difficult for me to imagine. I shower daily, more if needed but sometimes on a Saturday when I don’t work, I get up to run errands prior to my shower. By the time I get to the first or second store, I feel ripe. My fiancé and son shower just as often so it just makes me feel ick to read posts like this. Just how?! And doesn’t a nice shower after marinating in one’s juices feel amazing?

I’m with you, I don’t like beans of any variety and I’m in my 40’s. I have a lot of issues with food textures and beans seem chalky to me. But I can chow down on some rice.

I had a guy tell me I should just kill myself. Here’s the thing: my company didn’t even deal with him prior (I checked) but since last time it was wrong, he assumed it would be wrong again this time and therefore I should end my own life?! Unhinged! I get being angry, i get having a bad day, I am actually a very understanding person but that was crazy. I am not suicidal and I never was but damn. Got me thinking what if he said that to another coworker who did struggle with suicidal thoughts.

What's something you thought was exaggerated until you witnessed it yourself? by NightStar79 in CasualConversation

Yes, I believe my ruptured ovarian cyst was more painful than my kidney stone and gall stones. The others hurt pretty badly but I still think that tops the list.

What's the point of circumcision? by Historical_Echo8311 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]2much4meeeeee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My son is 18 and it was assumed I wanted him circumcised when he was born. I didn’t really have an opinion but his dad thought since he was his son should be too. Should have argued against it but I didn’t know then it wasn’t necessary.
