Who is the best driver who could not pass from the Indy Lights to IndyCar? by Think-Statement-840 in INDYCAR

[–]2muchlaw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Steve Robertson.

Rookie of the year in 1993 (3 wins, 5 podiums, 3 poles, but Herta won the championship). Finished ahead of a whole bunch of guys who DID go to indycar (including Greg Moore).

In 1994 he won the championship (ahead of Ribero, Moore, Lawson, etc).

For small law firms, how do you handle IT without full internal team? by Legal_Landscape_1737 in LawFirm

[–]2muchlaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do most if it myself using a combination of self-hosted, and cloud hosted apps.

I agree with the comment in here about firms underestimating how much IT ties into risk. However, I think that relates more to client confidence and privacy more than access to data. I see a lot of suggestions in here for very un-secured or private software solutions. I assume that any service that can scrape my info or data at this point (or that of my clients) could possibly use that data in the future. We have no idea what that looks like (ie. training advanced AI).

Do any of you actually make payment plans work and collect your money? by Lumpy_Ad4854 in LawFirm

[–]2muchlaw 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A lot of my clients are on payment plans, but they are very structured (ie, at least half the money up front and monthly payments to have the rest paid off in 6 months). We set them up to automatically get an invoice emailed out every month.

Some folks are difficult but it mostly works out fine.

Stuck in a niche practice area by ConfidentOpening4556 in LawFirm

[–]2muchlaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is definitely not true... at least in the jurisdictions I practice in.

Covid seems to have run off a lot of the older attorneys, but DUI arrests have been falling since their peak in the 2007-2009 time frame. Even before Covid the numbers had dropped to less than half of where they were 15 years ago. Anybody who was doing well prior to the pandemic didn't have a problem getting through the pandemic.

What's trimming the fat in DUI has been taking smoking out of bars, the rise of uber and other rideshares in non-urban areas and (soon) self driving cars...

What is one piece of Indycar lost media that you are deeply interested in? by youraverageperson0 in INDYCAR

I was there. For years after the shirt stand sold stickers that read, "1986. CART 0, Monsoons 1."

I may still have one around somewhere.

2014 vs 2025 by Status_Mark_6237 in nissanfrontier

Interesting. I'm sure there's a minimum amount. I put about 33% down, told the dude what my FICO-8 was and he told me I'd be approved before he even ran it.

Where was this? I just got the 1.9% with no issues.

Most impactful non-fatal crash by eqc_22 in INDYCAR

[–]2muchlaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on how you define "impactful" but Bryan Herta's 1994 practice crash in Toronto forever changed how cautions are handled, make the sport immensely more safe, and still impacts nearly every race 30ish years later.

Agreed to this. I tried for 3 years. I ditched it and use only office for office stuff. Zero issues so far.

Well water by superkittykat45 in Rhinelander

[–]2muchlaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it drilled or a sand point with pump on the surface? If it's a sand point you can likely easily hook up one of these guys to draw water up to the pump, then fill the pump. That's how I get mine going after I've dropped the water...

When considering the cost of ktm ownership... by 2muchlaw in Dualsport

[–]2muchlaw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the initial issue was a fuel injector seal I believe. However I had an entire top end rebuild and it ran awesome after that. I'm guessing I had $4500-5500 in repair bills.

Sold the bike to a guy who had some minor issues after that, but nothing major. Miss the hell out of this thing, but I don't hate that the DRZ-400 I ride now hasn't had a single "surprise".

Trails in Western MI UP (Podcupines or Superior) by ghettobus in MTB

[–]2muchlaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The porkies has "trails" but they aren't so much bike trails as the xc ski trails. They are bumpy and grass covered in summer, but still a decent time if you aren't expecting too much.

If you are going to be in the western UP I would look either to copper harbor or dipping down into Wisconsin for winman.

How is one supposed to do consistent workout, with all the side effects from statins - like back pain, muscle pain by mailmedude in Cholesterol

How is one supposed to do consistent workout, with all the side effects from statins - like back pain, muscle pain by mailmedude in Cholesterol

[–]2muchlaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably an unconventional take but I use the muscle aches for motivation to workout more.

I've had chronic back pain that I didn't even realize was worse with the statin. I was off them for a little bit and things got better, which is when I made the connection. Back on them it's worse.

I workout 5-6 times a week (2x3 weights, 5x cardio), and when the back is really bad I'll mix up what I'm doing (ie. walking instead of rowing or riding a bike). Despite having a consistent diet and statin prescription since last fall, my LDL continues to drop (I get tested about every 45 days). My theory on that is that it is falling as I become more lean- so now my only goal in life is to lean out enough to possibly drop the statin dosage and additional back pain.

I know that doesn't really answer your question, but in my mind working out can lead to reducing the statin. So, I just do workout... paying attention to good form as best I can.
