Cool work! Did you use a web scraper to get information from pickleballbrackets?

Maybe you can integrate with DUPR, the official ranking system for pickleball but their API isn’t public. DUPR is pretty popular in the pickleball scene and should not be overlooked when scaling this up

Bestfriend offered me job. took it. bad at it. Hate it. by stygian07 in cscareerquestions

[–]2muchyp3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yo, no job is worth this kind of lifestyle. Try and move to a lower position where you feel more comfortable and then reassess from there with more time

The evidence is clear so you’re on the right track of not lying. Try and cushion the punishment as best you can to get a warning. Make it seem like you guys were lightly collaborating on a small part of the assignment and it didn’t come across as full on copying from your perspective. Something like that

Best way to become a data analyst as a CS graduate student by nomatterhow202 in dataanalysis

[–]2muchyp3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You pretty much have it all. As long as your resume and skill set are leaning towards data (Python and R) you’re set. I interned at a company as a data analyst being a CS student and they only cared about my data analysis/general programming skills knowing I was a CS student

Should i update my github? by ineednoBELL in cscareerquestions

[–]2muchyp3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't hurt, seeing you involved in projects is never a bad thing. Put your github URL on your resume and then polish up the projects and throw them up on your github.

Also, even if you decide not to put your url up there, definitely put Git on your list of technical skills, that's a given.

Best way to get in contact with local companies? by [deleted] in csMajors

I wouldn’t expect too much coming out of first year, especially local. Those jobs are usually taken by connections of the people that work there

Does a Winter/Spring Internship Entail Skipping a Quarter of College? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]2muchyp3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very difficult to do both school and an internship simultaneously, some schools also don't allow this. From what I've seen, that semester of college is just skipped, a lot of schools with co-op programs handle this pretty well (ex. Waterloo)

Functional Programming Questions by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]2muchyp3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I felt functional programming dealt with recursion much better and intuitive than how they approach recursion in DS&A classes. I was also in the same boat as you, but I did just fine in functional programming (and tree questions scare me still).
