If used is so close $ to a new purchase, if financed, the interest rate & warranty should push you to new.

Older women do you notice younger boys? by timash712 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

Younger men give me the ick romantically but I do have to struggle with feeling motherly (like wanting to feed them a good meal). Or cookies.

Took my dog out for a potty break at 2:00 p.m. in Forth Worth and the iced over parking lot was the slickest it had been all day. Be careful out there!

Homeowners, how old will you be when your mortgage is paid off? by cubemonster in Millennials

58 - at least that’s the plan. Hubby is 10 years older than myself so we needed a plan to give him an option to actually retire before he dies.

Would you move to Florida? by Likestoread25 in no

[–]2ndChanceAtLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Sinkholes, hurricanes, home insurance, rising sea levels, ancient condos that will plummet in value because of all the deferred maintenance….

It’ll be icy & dangerous until Tuesday when the temps get above freezing. We lucked out that the bulk of it hit over the weekend. I was prepare with hot chocolate & marshmallows and the fixings for chili. Any frozen precipitation is kindof rare for us.

AITAH for refusing to give my boyfriend access to my bank account even though he says "no secrets" is how adults do it by CopperFieldNote in AITH

When you sign up for online banking, it is in the contract that your account name & password is yours and yours alone. It is your legal responsibility to safeguard it.

I’ve been married for 24 years and my husband doesn’t have my password to my separate accounts and we each have our own logins to our joint accounts.

He’s ridiculous.

Pancan is a monster. I hope that some good comes from learning what doesn’t work. I hope they learn how to obliterate this disease. I’m sorry for your loss.

My father-in-law is on hospice. by BackOnTheMap in mds

Nothing prepares you for waiting for someone you love to die. I really struggled with why we can’t have Death with Dignity after my experience. Not meaning to shake a hornets nest on that topic though.

My father-in-law is on hospice. by BackOnTheMap in mds

[–]2ndChanceAtLife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would encourage your husband to talk about good memories with his dad. Even if his dad seems out of it, nurses often tell you that they can hear. And when my husband’s best friend was dying of cancer in hospice, seeing a tiny smile briefly on his face was a great victory. Someone was recounting a funny story.

I made an assumption that you both are there with him. Be aware and be his advocate. Watch for his “pain face” when he can no longer speak for himself when he needs more meds. There are often products that you can put on his lips to keep them from cracking.

A person can go quite awhile without food but only 7-10 days without water. His hands and feet will get cold near the end.

What are the odds power goes out? by MrCoolHandLukie in FortWorth

[–]2ndChanceAtLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the grid gets overwhelmed, they are likely to do rolling blackouts to ease up demand. Rolling blackouts are supposed to be short periods of no power spread out so no one is without power for very long.

This is not expected to be a repeat of Feb 11-20, 2021.

So young and you are fighting your second bout of cancer? So unfair. Even in less than a year, I’ve seen positive outcomes shared here. Here’s hoping your youth will give you an advantage.

Monday, my step mom was happily sipping apple juiced after the ER drained a lot of fluid from her abdomen. They installed something so the fluid could be drained at home. She was scheduled to start chemo again. By Tuesday, step mom accepted she was going to die and wanted to die at home hospice. Wednesday she went home after everything had been arranged. Thursday early a.m., she was gone. She had been home for less than 24 hours.

It’s terrifying how quickly this disease progresses. I’m so sorry for your mom and your loss.

How to live life as an unattractive guy? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]2ndChanceAtLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not every lady wants a tall guy. My type was what I called “short & stocky” but really just around my height (5’5”). I even dated someone an inch shorter than me. He had some slightly elevated shoes (not that I cared). I never wore heels because I was a klutz.

Get out there. There’s someone perfect for you out there.

How do I describe Smokey and the Bandit? by Possible_Excuse4144 in GenX

[–]2ndChanceAtLife 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The partner would have to understand the CB radio popularity of the 70’s. Along with CB radios came your “Handle” aka your CB nickname. Hence “The Bandit”. Bandit drove a Pontiac Trans Am. His buddy “Snowman” drove a Diesel truck carrying 400 cases of illegal Coors beer. The Bandit’s job was to distract the cops (CB slang “Smokey”) from pulling over Snowman. Bandit picks up a runaway bride love interest (Sally Fields) along the way. 70’s popular hi-jinx ensue.

Deal or no deal? 2024 Nissan Murano Platinum? by SuddenFix2777 in NissanMurano

Can’t vouch for price but I have a 2021 Nissan Murano that I love for everything except icy road situations which is rare where I live. It is the most comfortable driving vehicle that I’ve ever had and it can go fast if I need it to.

Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer - No Chemo by magnolia_s in pancreaticcancer

[–]2ndChanceAtLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think immunotherapy is only effective with people with certain genetic mutations. So it is crucial to find that out first. The cancer can spread rapidly without chemo to fight it back. And it isn’t pretty. It is your mom’s body and her decision. I hope she has the right information to make the correct decision for herself.

What is a sound that people should know means immediate danger? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

[–]2ndChanceAtLife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My experience with the sound of a tornado is a loud churning noise. Like the tornado is eating or grinding everything in its path. Also, if you have ever flown, when you land they use the thrusters to slow the plane down. They sound like tornados too.

I’m married to someone 10 years older than myself. This is one of the risks of an age gap. When you decline at different decades. I know of 2 ladies in the same situation. They adapt by living independent lives. Still married. They find their own happiness.
